Work Text:
She didn't just suddenly appear one day, but rather she had suddenly always been there, and neither Violet nor Klaus could remember a time before Sunny.
They didn't know where she came from, if she came from anywhere, just that she was here, now.
They didn't know what she was, if she was anything unusual, other than an infant and their sister.
She had extremely sharp teeth and spoke in a language with no words or grammatical structures that they somehow understood perfectly, and sometimes she moved so fast she blurred. Sometimes she didn't move at all, seeming much more like a doll than a living being, but that's just how babies are, right?
When Beatrice II came along, and was not anything like Sunny was, the Baudelaires were very surprised, and a little worried. They took her to a pediatrician once they returned to the mainland and Beatrice was in perfect health, if a little pink from all the salmon. She was just oddly sedentary for a baby, in their opinion, and not very good at poker.
