Unlikely acquaintances- Multifandom fic

Summary:

Many different characters from different universes get picked to join a project, having to leave everything they know to work with people they never met isn't the easiest thing but they'll have to make it work.

Notes:

This is a fic to go along with my multifandom reaction series on yt, you don't need to watch the reaction videos but if there's a character you don't know and want to know about I might have a reaction video about them. You don't need to know who every character is either, it might help but each character will be introduced in a way where you can learn about who they are.

Sorry if this is clogging up the search for a fandom you like and want to read about, I understand many people dislike multifandom fics.

Chapter 1: Calm before the storm part 1-Tsukasa Tenma

Chapter Text

Tsukasa wasn’t sure what had happened at first, one moment he was in Sekai talking with Miku and hanging out with the plushies and the next… well he’s not entirely sure but he blinked and ended up in a dark room with metal walls. He even pulled out his phone and paused the song but nothing happened, he wasn’t back home he was still there.

Without much else to do he leaves the room and finds a long hallway with many doors, he tries opening some but discovers they’re locked. Soon he reaches a door at the end of the hallway, without any resistance it opens.

“Another person?”

“I don’t suppose you know how you got here? Or what this place is?”

“He doesn’t.”

When he enters a room three people are seated at a round table. A short girl with pink hair, a taller boy also with pink hair and little antennas, and a blue haired boy. They all stare at him.

“Yeah, I don’t know how I got here.” Tsukasa looks around the room. “Or what this place is.”

The blue haired boy gestures for Tsukasa to take a seat. “Well, I’m Shuichi Saihara.” He points to the girl. “That’s Madoka.” Shuichi points to the other boy. “And that’s Saiki.”

“We did find this piece of paper.” Madoka shows Tsukasa a paper with some writing on it.

“Look through the candidates, sort them into the green checkmark box or the red x box.”

“None of this makes sense, what is this talking about?” Tsukasa asks.

“It’s probably referring to the stack of papers.” Saiki says.

Tsukasa looks at the middle of the table and a stack of papers is in the middle. He grabs the top paper and discovers it looks almost like a resume. The other three also grab a paper, although Tsukasa swears he saw Saiki’s paper levitate towards him.

“I think we’re supposed to choose people, like when choosing who to hire.” Shuichi explains.

“What does it mean for the people we choose though?” Madoka asks. “Do you think they’ll also end up here?”

The question hangs over them, the last he wants is to be the person deciding who has to leave everything they know to go here.

“Let’s look at each paper one at a time and decide.” Saiki suggests.

The process goes relatively smoothly afterwards. There were lots of different people but what was strange was that some people didn’t even look human and when listing their abilities some of them were magic. So far some of the people chosen were someone named Michael Afton, another person named Will, and a girl named Marcy.

At one point they got to a person and it was Rui, of course he quickly said no and came up with some reasons as to why they shouldn't choose him without making it obvious he knows Rui. It’s a good thing he’s such a great actor!

“Well, since we’re done we should get to know each other!” Madoka suggests

He and Shuichi agree and after some convincing Saiki agrees as well. They figured since they might be here for a while it’ll be best to get to know each other, as Saiki was talking about himself however Shuichi asked him if he was psychic and when Saiki said yes it dawned on all of them that they might be farther away from home then they thought.

“What about you Tsukasa?” Shuichi prompts. “What’s it like where you’re from?”

“Ah! Well I’m part of a theater troupe and a future star!” Tsukasa exclaims.

“So you like acting?” Madoka asks.

“Yes! I hope to make my sister and everyone smile with my shows.” He smiles. “In fact, my feelings to make everyone smile are so strong it made a Sekai.”

“What’s a Sekai?” Saiki asks, which is the first time he’s spoken in a while.

“It’s almost like another world, you enter it by playing a song on your phone and there’s all sorts of things there! My sekai looks like a theme park and has lots of plushies walking around. Oh! And the virtual singers of course.”

Tsukasa feels a sense of pride as he explains more of what his Sekai looks like, he’d like to take them there but he doubts he can go into the Sekai right now. He wonders how the virtual singers are doing and the plushies, is Miku wondering where he went? She went to go grab something before he disappeared, he hopes she doesn’t think he ditched her. And what about his friends? Rui, Nene, and Emu… surely they noticed he’s gone but he doesn’t even know how long he’s been here. He doesn’t want to worry though, he’s sure they’ll be home in no time and he can continue on his path to be a star!

Chapter 2: Calm before the storm part 2-Shuichi Sahara

Summary:

Where was Shuichi before he got summoned?

Notes:

The next three chapters (including this one) are just going to be explaining the characters from the previous chapters backstories a little and just restate what happened but in their point of views, this is mostly for people who don't know these characters so if you know who Shuichi, Madoka, or Saiki is you can skip their chapter as they aren't important for the story.

After part 4 the actual plot will start but I just want to make sure everyone who reads this knows the characters, their personalities, and backstories a little.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

When Shuichi arrived in this mysterious place, at first, he wasn’t too worried since he, Maki, and Himiko had just ended the killing game. They were about to enter the real world and didn’t know what to expect and Shuichi thought he had gotten there, however, when there was no sight of either Himiko or Maki he began to worry.

He began thinking of the possibilities, after all he is the ultimate detective it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what happened. Perhaps, he is in the real world but ended up somewhere different then Maki and Himiko, it would certainly make things difficult but at least they’re all in the same place… more or less.

Shuichi examines his surroundings, he woke up in a metal room with one exit, with some hesitation he pushes forward and leaves the room. Shuichi was greeted with a long hallway and many doors. He assumes the doors are locked and continues towards the door at the end of the hallway.

When he opens the door he spots one other person sitting at a round table, he looks frustrated and is holding something in his hands which he promptly places onto his head.

“Uh, hello. I don’t suppose you know where this place is?” Shuichi asks while walking to a chair and taking a seat.

The pink haired boy sighs. “I don’t, whoever brought us here is strong.”

Shuichi wasn’t really sure what he meant but it only made his worries grow, he thought he was done with getting kidnapped and ending up in a random place with people (or a person) he doesn’t recognize.

“Well, what’s your name? I have a feeling we might be here for a while.” Shuichi asks. “My name is Shuichi Saihara.”

“I’m Saiki.”

Shuichi ends up sitting at the table for too long until another person shows up, this time it’s a younger looking girl who also has pink hair. She introduces herself as Madoka and ends up being able to make good conversation. Nothing happens for a while until a hole in the roof opens and a piece of paper floats down, they all look up at it and when it falls on the table suddenly a large stack of papers and two boxes.

Madoka grabs the paper and reads it aloud. “Look through the candidates, sort them into the green checkmark box or the red x box.” She looks at the stack of papers worryingly. “Maybe we should wait for a few more minutes, in case another person shows up.”

“Another person will show up.” Saiki says, staring at the door, he says it as if he’s certain someone will show up.

Almost on cue the door opens and a boy with yellow and orange hair walks in.

Madoka mutters to herself. “Another person?”

“I don’t suppose you know how you got here? Or what this place is?” Shuichi questions the boy who looks at them confused.

“He doesn’t.” Saiki answers.

The boy explains he’s just as clueless as they are and Shuichi points to the seat next to him which the boy promptly takes. “Well, I’m Shuichi Saihara.” he then introduces Madoka and Saiki.

Madoka begins to explain the paper that showed up and they all agree to start choosing people, some of the people looked almost non human but then again, he knew a robot so people with pink skin and wings shouldn’t be too weird.

After they finish, Madoka suggests they all get to know each other. Saiki went first and Shuichi’s suspicions were answered when Saiki confirmed he is psychic, it was also worrying on how with all of Saiki’s powers he can’t get out of here.

Shuichi offers to go second. “My backstory is a little confusing, before arriving here I was in a killing game.” He hears gasps from Madoka and Tsukasa as he talks. “Apparently, me and fifteen other students auditioned for the killing game but our memories were wiped and replaced with new ones when the killing game started and I don’t remember anything before it.

Madoka stares at him while frowning. “You don’t remember anything?”

“Technically, I do have memories of a life before the killing game but they're all fabricated. I remember solving a crime that not even the police could solve which is how I got my ultimate talent but in the real world ultimate talents don’t exist and everything I know could very well be fake. Shuichi explains, he doesn’t like to think about what memories could be fake.

“What’s an ultimate talent?” Tsukasa asks.

“It’s a title you get when you’re the absolute best at what you do, I’m the ultimate detective but you can be an ultimate for anything. For example I knew the ultimate pianist, astronaut, and ultimate supreme leader.”

Shuichi explains a little about his classmates, only as much as he can before it gets too upsetting. Tsukasa finds it especially impressive when Shuichi talks about Kiibo and how he’s the ultimate robot, apparently he has a friend who loves to build robots.

Shuichi does wonder what happened to Maki and Himiko though, they didn’t know what to expect when they escaped the killing game. Tsumugi told them they had no business being in the real world since they’re all fictional so he hopes Maki and Himiko are being treated nicely in the real world.

Notes:

Quick little explanation since the ending for DRV3 is very confusing. Tsumugi who is mentioned at the end is the mastermind who planned the killing game. Shuichi was apart of the real world where the killing game is very popular but auditioned to be apart of it and got put into the killing game which made him kinda become a fictional character which is why he mentions going to the real world.

hope this clears up any questions but if you are still confused feel free to ask and I'll answer!

Chapter 3: Calm before the storm part 3- Madoka

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Madoka had made her wish with Kyubey, she didn’t want any magical girl to suffer anymore so she was going to stop them from ever becoming witches and take their pain away. So, that’s what she did, Madoka went and became a protector of magical girls which Kyubey told her that she would essentially be a god and no longer a human, but if that were true why was she currently in a building?

Madoka looked around, she called out for Kyubey but there was no answer, all she heard was her own voice echoing off the walls. There must be a reason she was here, something or someone brought her here so she was going to figure out why. Madoka looked around and spotted a door, when she went through it a long hallway greeted her. She tried some of the doors but none opened. Eventually she got to the end of the hallway and tried the door at the end of it.

When she entered the room two people were already in there, a boy with pink hair and another boy with dark blue hair.

“I’m Madoka.” She introduces herself and takes a seat at the table. The other two introduce themself and while Saiki stays silent she ends up talking with Shuihi.

“This place looks pretty scary don’t you think?” Madoka asks while she looks around the dark room.

Shuichi also glances around. “You’re right, and if I had to guess, the walls are reinforced so we can’t get out.”

She ends up talking to Shuichi for a while and even Saiki comments something every once in a while. Then, after a while a paper floats down from an opening in the roof, they all stare at it float down and when it lands on the table suddenly two boxes and a large stack of papers are on the table. She grabs the paper that floated down and reads it in her head before reading it aloud.

“Look through the candidates, sort them into the green checkmark box or the red x box”

Truthfully, she just wanted to postpone sorting the papers as long as she can, which is why she suggested they wait in case another person shows up but it turns out there was another person. A boy with blonde hair walks in who also doesn’t know how he got here.

Shuichi introduces them and the boy introduces himself as Tsukasa. “Well, this paper appeared a little while ago.” She hands the paper to Tsukasa who reads it.

They all agree to start sorting the papers but Madoka worries about the people they are choosing, she hopes they won’t end up here, wherever they are, but she can’t help but think that they will. Some of the people looked almost non human, not anywhere near how witches look though.

When they finish no one says anything until Madoka gets an idea. “Well, since we’re done we should get to know each other!”

Saiki talks about himself first which confirms a lot of things she didn’t notice but apparently Shuichi did, he went next and it began to make sense on how he noticed all those things about Saiki because it turns out he’s a detective. Tsukasa went after and while she enjoyed hearing about where he’s from and how adorable it sounded it started to become too much information.

After that it was her turn. “Well, where I'm from there are magical girls. Magical girls gain their powers through Kyubey, who will grant them one wish and in exchange they have to fight witches, that was originally though because I wished for the power to stop all witches from forming.”

“So you’re also a magical girl?”

“Yeah, magical girls also have a soul gem which gives us our powers.

Madoka purposefully leaves out how witches are formed and how soul gems can become corrupted, it’s too sad and witches aren’t a problem anymore so she doesn’t want to talk about them if she can help it. She’s glad that magical girls can no longer become witches but if she’s not watching over and protecting them then what does that mean about her wish? If Kyubey was here she would ask him but it seems like even he can’t get to where she is.

Notes:

It has been a while since I watched Madoka so sorry if her personality if off, also I hope I did a good job explaining her backstory as it is very confusing but if you are still confused the important things to note is that she is a magical girl who wished for no more witches to form which are formed from corrupted magical girls. In doing so she changed the past, present, and future which meant the universe had to change and she became a god who watches over magical girls.

Also it got so hard to write this chapter without it sounding repetitive. The next one is Saiki though which will be different!

Chapter 4

Notes:

Quick little note before you read this, this is Saiki's chapter and canonically he can break the fourth wall which he will do so the pov for this chapter is a little all over the place so I want to apologise for that in advance

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Before this he was minding his own business at home enjoying the few moments of peace he rarely gets, his parents were out and no one from school was knocking on his door bothering him. He actually thinks he’d rather have Nendou bothering him than being in this place because at least he’d be able to teleport away from Nendou but here his powers aren’t working, or at least most of them aren’t.

In any case my name is Saiki Kusuo and I have psychic superpowers. If I were to sit here and list every power I have I would be here all day but also you’d skip right past it because I have so many. I also could explain everything I’ve done since getting to this place but it’s nothing important and by now you would’ve read it three times so I'm just not going to do that.

What I am going to do is explain some of my actions, you might recall when Tsukasa mentioned antennas on my head and when Shuichi mentioned me holding something then putting it on my head, those are antennas they were made to dampen my powers since if I didn’t have them I could very easily destroy the entire planet or my powers would just be hard to control. I thought that if I took off an antenna or two I could teleport back home but it didn’t work.

Another important thing to note is that I can also read minds, which is how I knew there was going to be another person, I read Tsukasa’s mind before he even got into the room.

There really isn’t much else to explain but I guess you would want to know what I said when explaining what it’s like where I’m from so I’ll just let you read that.

“Who wants to go first?” Madoka asks

He sighs. “I will, in my world I’m a high school student.”

Quickly Shuichi interjects. “Are you a psychic?”

Both Madoka and Tsukasa stare at Shuichi then back at him. “Yes, I’m psychic. I have just about every power you can think of, even ones you wouldn’t be able to think of.”

“Do you use your powers a lot?” Tsukasa asks.

“Sometimes, I make a point not to do anything that will change the world drastically though. Actually, except for when I was born, people were only born with black, brown, and blonde hair but I was born with pink hair so to not draw attention to myself I altered human DNA to allow people to be born with any colour hair.”

And suddenly, everyone is staring at him like he’s the most weird one.

Notes:

Finally, I am done with the parts which means the next chapter will be about new characters and MIGHT be a short time skip I'm still working it out but sorry this chapter was so short and not that good I just didn't know what else to add since it's the same event just told In four different pov's
