Summary
Due to saving a small kingdom of women from a tyrannical queen because of boredom, Xie Lian is now pushed into the position of White Lotus’s new queen by the overeager citizens. Reluctantly Xie Lian accepts the title and responsibility, but due to his past, he is no longer the kind and gentle crown prince he was 800 years ago, and is instead a cold-hearted and angry ruler who pushes everyone away out of fear of abandonment, rejection, and finding out about his cursed shackles and troubled past.

That is, until he runs into a young man in red after his unwanted ascension that lights a warm spark in him that he thought has long since distinguished.

Notes:Once upon a time, a nerdy girl was rewatching one of her favorite one piece arcs to see one of her favorite characters again, and as she watched she thought, ‘Y’now Xie Lian is also kinda sassy. I wonder what the story would be like if he acted more like Boa Hancock.’ 2 months later, here we are. I like the concept of mean and sassy Xie Lian, so I took it further and based his character in this fic off of Boa Hancock.
