Chapter Text

“Meeting is dismissed!” Ludwig yelled out through the meeting room. As the nations stood up and exited the room. Alfred ran up to Ludwig, “So! Any plans for tonight?” He said with a smile on his face.

The German’s face softened and smiled a bit, “You do know our daughter is waiting for us at home right?”

“Exactly! Here’s what I’m thinking, what about Japanese!” Alfred exclaimed.

“We had Japanese a few days ago, Liebe,” Ludwig said with a laugh.

Alfred only laughed back, “Alright, alright!”

“Are you two lovebirds going to finish,” Arthur said,

“Jeez, Dad. When will you stop being a grump for once,” the American teased.

“Bloody twat,” the British spat back and walked away with the other nations leaving Ludwig and Alfred alone.

“Rude,” Alfred said,

“Come on, we still have a long journey,” Ludwig reassured his partner.

“Alright, alright!” Alfred said with a smile.

They got home shortly and opened their door. Excited to call out their adoptive daughter, “Kid! Mari! We’re back!” Alfred called out her name.

“Dads? Welcome back!” She responded,

She went downstairs and went to greet her dads. As the couple were happy to see her and Alfred gave her the biggest hug.

“How’s our little sweetheart doing?” Alfred asked,

“Dad! I’m 18 now!” Marigold argued with a laugh,

“Nope! Still a kid,” he laughed back.

Ludwig smiled at the two and gave his partner a kiss on the cheek, “Alright. Put her down, Al,”

Alfred compiled and released their daughter from the embrace.

Before Alfred and Ludwig asked her for dinner, she asked, “You two can see ghosts right?”

Both of them raised eyebrows and looked at each other worried, “Yeah…why you asked? You didn’t summon any ghosts again did you, Liebling?” Ludwig asked.

Marigold shook her head, “No no! Papa, it’s not like…well…”

“Well what?” Alfred said,

“I kinda made a few friends that weren’t really in this world…” she said,

“Don’t tell me…” Alfred said,

Alfred and Ludwig saw two ghosts walking down the stairs, one with pink birthmarks under his eyes and a bandana while the other had red hair and wore a green school uniform. They went behind the girl.

“You must be Jones-san and Beilschmidt-san,” the red-haired boy said.

The two only nodded, “You two are?”

“My name is Noriaki Kakyoin,” The red-hair introduced himself.

“I’m Caesar Zeppeli,” the blond haired man said,

This was the start when the ghosts started living in the Jones-Beilschmidt family’s home.

“So Noriaki…are there others living inside of our house that our little one seems to befriend at one point or another?” Ludwig asked as they ate their dinner at the table while the two ghosts were hovering over the girl.

Marigold slump down in embarrassment as the two ghosts only chuckle.

“Well…I think Mr. Joestar and the others are right behind Mr. Jones back,” Noriaki said,

Alfred turned around and screamed as a blue haired man with a muscular build appeared along with a blond haired man with a low ponytail and red glasses behind him.

“Careful, I apologize for scaring you, Mr. Jones,” the blue-haired gentleman said,

“I-it’s fine,” Alfred stuttered and tried to pull a nervous smile on his face.

“I apologize for his attitude but he’s scared of ghosts,” Ludwig said, “his reason being he can’t punch them,”

Which gave the American a gasp and said, “Hey! I’m getting used to it…Kind of…”

Their daughter only laughed at the interaction, which gave the blue-haired gentleman a chuckle as well.

“I apologize for scaring you again,” The gentleman apologized, “My name is Jonathan Joestar but please you may call me Jonathan,” he added.

“Nice to meet you, dude!” Alfred said.

The blond-haired man with red glasses stepped forward and introduced himself next, “My name is Doppo Kunikida, an agent in the ADA or the Armed Detective Agency. A pleasure to make your acquaintances,”

“A pleasure is ours, Mr. Kunikida,” Ludwig said with a slight smile,

Marigold chimed in, “The white-haired man with a kimono is the president of the ADA! His name is Fukuzawa Yukichi,”

The ADA president only grunted and said, “As the kid said, yes I am Yukichi Fukuzawa,”

Both men bowed in respect for the man.

A short boy jumped behind Marigold and introduced himself, “Hi! My name is Miyazawa Kenji! Nice to meet you two! It’s nice to meet new city people every now and then,”

“City people?” Ludwig said and raising his brow,

“He’s from a farm, papa,” Marigold said,

“I see,” Ludwig nodded.

“My name is Junichirou Tanizaki,” the ginger-haired introduced himself,

“Pleasure to meet you, dude,” Alfred smiled.

“The others will show up soon but it will only be us at this dinner table of yours, gentlemen and little lady,” Jonathan said as Marigold smiled. 

“Then we’ll wait for the others then,” Ludwig added, “Now all three of us will introduced ourselves now,”

“I’m Alfred F. Jones,” Alfred introduced himself, “But do please call me Alfred for casual convo please. This little bit of a grump is my boyfriend, Ludwig,”

“Alfred,” Ludwig sighed and chuckle, “But yes, I’m Ludwig Beilschmidt but you may call me Ludwig for informalities,”

“You two are together?” Jonathan said,

“Yes?” Ludwig said,

“Didn’t think it was possible till now to have a partner with a same gender as you,” Jonathan said,

“Well it is commonly accepted today but…there’s still people who don’t agree with it,” Alfred explained,

“I see,” Jonathan said,

“Dads, you do notice he’s from the 1880’s right?” Marigold whispered to her dads.

“We know that, Sweetheart. I mean judging he’s wearing in his ghost form, definetely,” Alfred said and Ludwig nodded in agreement with his boyfriend.

“Even me and Noriaki agree that couples that have the same gender can date one another as normal nowadays,” Caesar said,

“Welcome to the 21st century, you three,” Marigold smiled,

“I think Kunikida-san already explained to us that it's possible to be married at this time than a few years ago,” Kakyoin said.

“I still need to explain that same-sex marriages are still frown upon even though is already common in this modern society,” Kunikida sighed,

“That it’s still true,” the girl agree,

“Enough of that, let’s get straight to the point,” Ludwig said, setting his food aside as Alfred and Marigold followed, “Did our daughter summon you?”

“No, signore. It wasn’t your daughter who summoned us. We weren’t really sure how we got here ourselves,” Caesar said,

“We were just watching by our friends defeat our enemies then suddenly here we are,” Kakyoin explained,

“You don’t know how you got here? No recollection or anything?” Alfred asked,

“Unfortunately, gentlemen. No,” Jonathan said,

“Even the others we met along the way didn’t know how we got here,” Kunikida added, “All we knew is that…we accidentally scare your daughter by trying to ask her where we were,”

“Like dad like daughter,” Ludwig whispered,

Both Alfred and Marigold responded, “HEY!?”

Marigold sighed and calmed down, “The next thing I knew, Dads. I introduced my name to them and told them about our home, well…let’s just say their far from their homes,”

“She showed us things that didn’t happen in our universes,” Tanizaki said,

“There’s no skill users, no organizations to keep out the foreign and rogue skill users in check,” Fukuzawa said,

“No hamon, stone masks, and stand users in what Kakyoin calls them in this universe as well,” Jonathan added,

“That’s when we realize that this is another universe, we got trapped with. We don’t know who or what sent us in the first place,” Kunikida said,

Alfred and Ludwig looked at each other and Alfred looked back, “I’m no expert on Alternate universe, sure I watch a lot of videos on it but I think I know who has the best knowledge,”

“Who is it?” All of the ghosts asked,

“His name is Arthur Kirkland,” Alfred said, “He’s my adopted dad or maybe brother. I don’t know I’ll try to talk to him soon on this,”

“The best course of action right now is-” Before Ludwig could finish Marigold yelled, “Can they stay please?”

Ludwig and Alfred looked at her as Ludwig said, “Marigold, these ghosts may need to return back to the afterlife even if they can’t return to their universes or not,”

“Please, dads. They don’t have a place to stay plus it would be too sad for them to live inside a haunted mansion. Maybe, just maybe I could have friends for once in this home since it’s lonely…without you guys,”

Alfred and Ludwig looked at her with empathy as Ludwig sighed and smiled, “Alright, they could stay while Alfred and I will talk to your grandpa Arthur to find a way to send them home,”

“Besides! Someone’s gotta keep ya in trouble, young lady!” Alfred said,

“I’m 18, dads!” Marigold said,

“Still…it is still our life to protect you and cherish you,” Ludwig said, “You already know we’re…”

“Different than you two? I know, dads,” Marigold said,

The ghosts look at each other on what the two men meant about being different from their daughter. As Alfred kissed her forehead, “You know we love you right, kid?”

“I know, Dad,” Marigold said,

“We just don’t…want to lose you, liebling,” Ludwig said,

Marigold only nodded as the two nations smiled at their adopted daughter and turned to the ghosts, “We’ll help you get you guys home but for now, all of you are welcome into our home,” Ludwig said.

“Thank you,” Jonathan said, “We will owed you very greatly,”

Alfred and Ludwig smiled as Alfred step forward and said, “Please…keep our daughter safe from any harm,”

The ghosts looked at each other and smiled as Caesar said, “You have our word, Signore,”

“We’ll guard your daughter with our ghostly lives!” Kenji said,

As the trio went back to finish their dinner, Tala went upstairs as the others followed. She went to her room and closed the door as the ghosts went through the door and floated right beside her.

She looked at them and asked, “So how did all of you die? If I don’t mind asking?”

They looked at each other then back at her as the room fell to silence and Marigold cleared her throat, “Sorry…if it’s a sensitive subject for all of you-”

“No, no, it’s very much alright, young lady,” Jonathan reassured her.

Jonathan sat beside her and said, “Well…after my battle with Dio…”

“Who is he?” Marigold asked,

“My adopted brother who got turned into a vampire,” Jonathan said,

“Well…that same vampire put a hole in my stomach,” Kakyoin said as Jonathan felt a twinge of guilt and said, “I apologize that happen to you,”

“It’s alright, continue please, Mr. Joestar,” Kakyoin said,

Jonathan looked at Marigold and continued, “You see after my battle with him, he boarded my ship with my newly wedded-wife, Erina…I had to protect her…well it ended up costing my life to save her and the baby,”

Marigold looked at him with a sad expression as she tried to lay her head on his ghostly shoulder but couldn’t as she laid on the bed with an “Oof” coming out of her mouth. Jonathan smiled at the gesture and gently patted her head with his ghostly hand.

Marigold turned to Caesar and asked, “What about you, Mr. Zeppeli?”

“Please call me Caesar, Signorina,” Caesar said, “My fate…well…I got crushed to death after fighting an honorable battle for my friend,”

Marigold’s eyes widened and quietly whispered, “Oh no…”

Caesar saw her sadness and said, “Don’t feel bad, Signorina. Please I know my fate, it was destined to my family’s name,”

“Can you at least tell me what your friend’s name was?” Marigold asked,

“His name was Joseph Joestar…Jojo is Jonathan’s grandson,” Caesar said and looked at Jonathan,

“You’re a Zeppeli right?” Jonathan asked,

“I am yes,” Caesar answered,

“I’m sorry about your fate, Caesar…” Jonathan said, “My grandson, is he safe?”

Caesar only nodded and said, “He’s safe and living a good life apparently until I got here unfortunately,”

“Good to know,” Jonathan smiled.

Marigold listened and looked at Noriaki, “I guess we know that you got killed by Jonathan’s adopted brother by punching a hole in your stomach,”

Kakyoin was silent and float down as he sat the opposite side of Tala, “To be honest, I never had said my goodbyes to my group…well I guess my final message for them was a goodbye and an information about DIO’s ability on his stand the World,”

Marigold listened as Kunikida, Fukuzawa, Kenji, and Tanizaki continued to float and told their deaths to the girl.

Kunikida explained that his death was getting stabbed by a skill named Amenogozen’s sword, Fukuzawa had the same fate, Tanizaki experienced it as well by getting stabbed in the eye, and Kenji had his body both shattered and bubbled away.

She felt an amount of sadness and sympathy for them as they reassured her that it was worth it to save the world and the ones they loved. Marigold nodded, “Those were horrible fates all of you suffered,”

“We had our worst, kid,” Kunikida said,

Marigold asked, “You said they were others?”

“Yes,” Jonathan said,

“Where are they then?” Marigold added,

“Hello, Signorina. My name is Bruno Bucciati,” A man said, which made Marigold fall off her bed and almost screamed as Bruno looked down and slightly chuckled, “Apologies if I scare you, are you alright?”

Marigold nodded as two other ghosts emerged from Bruno as the purple-haired man introduced himself as Leone Abbachio. She waved at the two of them. They told Marigold about their deaths and explained as well they didn’t know how they ended up in her and her dads’ world.

“Don’t worry,” Marigold reassured them, “My dads will be able to bring you guys home but right now I guess the best decision is to stay here,”

The room went silent as she added, “I’m sorry that happened to all of you…I wouldn’t imagine what pain and grief what could have been that you woke up and found out your dead,”

“Couldn’t imagine quite either,” Kakyoin said, “but if it's for the sake of protecting others then it’s worth it.”

Marigold slightly smiled, “Yeah…”

As she slowly accepts that ghosts entered into her and her dads life is becoming a new norm for them.
