Summary
Lia chews her lip, fingers tapping rapidly against the underside of the table. Her scent does something funny, skewing in a few panicked directions before suddenly halting. Now, none of the previous notes of distress or anger are there– all that's left is a distinct layer of anxiety.
“...I've never hit a wall that fast before,” she says shakily, voice aimed towards the table, tone laden with transparency, with fear.
Alex's throat suddenly feels tight. “I know,” he whispers.
