Chapter 1: Koby
Chapter Text
Imposible was a word Koby was learning to erase from his vocabulary, he still fell into habit and used it. He was learning it was a word without real meaning because nothing was impossible.
Everyday he dared to do something or think of something new he thought impossible and it scared him, but when he decided to become an admiral was the day he learned that because something is scary doesn’t mean you can't do it.
Since he joined the marines he had learned a lot of impossible things, sky islands, islands made of sweets, men so strong they divide the sky in two, and so so much more. But nothing seemed as impossible as Luffy, a guy in a strawhat that popped out of a barrel like it was an everyday thing.
After his training under Garp, another impossible person who throwed cannon balls as a greeting, Koby thought he was prepared that he had forgotten about the word impossible. Then he met with Luffy on water 7 and heard about his plans, about what he did for a crewmate and he fell into his old habit.
Koby knows anything is possible because if someone as crazy as Luffy exists and success why would anything else be impossible?
Chapter 2: Sengoku
Chapter Text
When Garp told him that he had three grandsons and that he was training them to be great marines, Sengoku prayed that the kids choose anything else but that. The fleet Admiral appreciated his friend but the Marine couldn't allow itself to hold another Garp (too powerful and wild).
Portugas D Ace, Monkey D Luffy, (it's been ten years since he heard last from the third grandson, Sengoku didn't dared to ask) both with wanted posters for their heads and the Admiral cursed himself for his prayers, cursed the gods for hearing him when he asked for them not being marines.
When he saw the wanted poster and hear worry in Garp's laugh, Sengoku prayed again hoping to be heard. He prayed to not catch his friend's family.
Now he was on a plataform about to execute the oldest of his friend's grandson and Sengoku had given up on the gods listening to him. The admiral was known for his strategy and his plans over plans against Whitebeard, against Revolutionaries, against Roger and even against Garp.
Sengoku should have know that plans are useless against a D.
Monkey D Luffy fell from the sky to free his brother and nobody expected him to succeed, but he was a damned D and they loved to go against all odds.
Garp had let himself be defeated and Sengoku had both brothers in reach. He couldn't kill them, not both, it was enough that his friend accepted the death of one of them, but both? The same day. No, he couldn't do that to Garp.
Ace was free and both brothers were smiling, Garp had know how to raise those kids.
Ace was death and the other was close.
The only thing Sengoku could do was hold Garp against the floor so he wouldn't become another enemy, at least it was an excuse to not go after strawhat.
Luffy had escaped Marineford and Sengoku could only pray for him to stay alive. He felt like a traitor.
Chapter 3: Brulee
Chapter Text
Brulee hated being on the forest, she knew it was her duty to avoid the strawhats getting on her sister wedding, but still, the task was a drag.
She wanted to be with her sister, calm her, reasure her that everything was going to end well. Brulee knew that Pudding hidded herself under mask of false personality and feelings, everyone on the Charlotte's family did, even Mama.
Maybe it was the mirrors, but everyone knew that Brulee could always know the reality behind all those masks of fake perfection that her siblings wore, and she knew how hard they try to keep it up, how hard it was for them, even Katakuri.
Maybe that was why she hated having to watch strawhat, simple chaos. Brulee hated him for not having to be perfect. She hated him being gullible, his overconfidence, that he didn't care that he was imperfect. It was as if all the hard work her family did for Mama wasn't important, it wasn't necessary.
So Brulee hated him and at some point she couldn't hold it back longer, she asked Craker to kill the newbie even if their orders were only to keep him away from the wedding. She asked him with her sweet little sister voice, she had stopped being one a long time ago but she couldn't stand strawhat on her forest anymore.
Brulee regreted asking that, she regreted it when Craker was defeated and she was kidnapped and used, she regreted it when Pudding's wedding was destroyed along the cake and Mama got furious. She regreted it the most when Katakuri was defeated and strawhat escaped
Then her, always perfect and serious, big brother smiled relieved and truly happy. Brulee didn't regreted anymore, it was worth it.
Chapter 4: Katakuri
Chapter Text
The strawhat's captain was weak, bold but far away from the level of a Yonkou's commander, Katakuri could see all the path of this battle and in each one his enemy was defeated.
He had to admit that in any other occasion he would have prolonged the fight but it was lunch's time, so he burry the young pirate with mochi, confident that he wouldn't get up, and went to eat his delicious donuts.
The second time strawhat fell, Katakuri was hoping he wouldn't get up, he knew a single hit wawsn't so bad and that the young captain had taken him by surprise. But he was starting to suspect that all the futures he had seen for that battle weren't the only ones.
He tried to remind strawhat that he was superior, a yonkou's commander that could see the future and mimic all his moves and improved them... Katakuri knew it wouldn't work.
Why? Strawhat Luffy had started to fall, nothing had changed in their fight, but then, why was he falling? A part of him was dissapointed and he didn't like that part. He should be happy that his enemy was finally defeated. But why was he feeling like he was losing too?
Flambe could think whatever she wanted, she could think she was the best sister (Katakuri knew the real best sister was Brulee), she could think it was funny to mock everything and everyone. But what he wasn't going to let her do was to interfer in this battle, even if he wasn't sure to keep calling it that.
Luffy, strawhat (they were still enemies) had to get up. How many times had he knocked him down during the fight? And he had always get up, this time couldn't be different. Strawhat had to defeat him and meet with his crew, he had to follow his path to wherever it took him.
Katakuri remembered that Monkey D Luffy had to be in Chocolat at 1 AM, a part of him wanted to keep fighting, he wanted to know how far strawhat could go.
But he knew all the posible end to this battle and in each one Katakuri was defeated, so he better not make strawhat be late.
