Will held the severed hand in his own for a second before quickly putting it back down and searching for a scalpel in his drawer. Once he found one, he started to make incisions in the fingers, large enough to remove the bones from the hand. He lined them up carefully by size, picking out the ones that he could use for his little project.
Here's one thing people don't know about the Camp Half-Blood infirmary, they have a decent amount of dental equipment on hand. The year rounders don't really have the means to go to mortal dentists, so the medics had to adjust. Will didn't particularly like dental work, he was a better field medic, but he still knew where all the supplies were kept. Rummaging through the dental drawer, he found a small drill used for teeth, and knew it was the perfect tool.
He took the bones that he decided were a good size and drilled tiny holes into the ends of each one, shoving them in his pocket when he was done and leaving the infirmary after cleaning his work area.
Will made his was back to the Apollo cabin and sat on bed, reaching for the windowsill where he had some string lying around from some of his own regular friendship bracelets. Choosing the black string, he carefully tied each bone together, forming the most morbid bracelet that there was. Will even was cautious to leave extra string on the ends and wrap those loose pieces in another scrap of string, making the bracelet adjustable, a trick one of his Athena friends taught him.
As he cut the last bit of excess string from the bracelet, he looked down at it and smiled.
"Oh, he's gonna love this!"
Will spoke quietly to himself, excited that he had come up with something that was, in his mind at least, the PERFECT gift for his anniversary with the son of Hades. He'd be lying to if he said he didn't take his own enjoyment in the process as well. Though in modern times, Apollo presented his music, art, light, and prophecy aspects more often, many of his children still had little twisted joys that stemmed from their father's plague and death aspects.
The boy nearly jumped out of his bed, walking barely slower than a run to the Hades cabin, leaving the bracelet behind. The couple's anniversary was the next day, and Will could wait to give Nico the "perfect" gift, though he still wanted to at least tell his boyfriend that he had something really cool for him, needed a way to let out the excitement he felt, which he had a habit of doing by talking... a LOT.
Will walked up to the door of cabin 13 and knocked enthusiastically.
