Summary
Lord von Bergow has returned from Prague and Chamberlain Ulrich is sorely reminded that he cannot bare his love to his lord. Alas, there is presently a painter at Trosky who has tended his woes before. Met with confusion over the nature of men and what it is to be loved, Ulrich finds his sanity waning over the walls of Trosky like the silver of the moon.
What does Voyta's skull say to him? and what would mine say to me, if it could speak?
Would burying them in the earth silence them forever? How is a man to heal if he refuses to treat the gaping wounds left by grief and intangible love? Perhaps he is better off bleeding to death.
