Through The Fire

Chapter 10: I Do, And Always Will

Chapter Text

The wedding was in Rossi’s backyard.

Small. Intimate. Surrounded by people who had seen them at their worst and still showed up for their best.

Garcia cried through the entire ceremony.

Reid officiated and quoted Emily Dickinson. Twice.

Henry was the ring bearer. Michael scattered petals and confetti with wild glee. Rossi gave a toast that turned into a rambling story about a Parisian bookstore and ended with, “Love like this? It’s rare. Hold onto it.”

JJ wore a simple dress. Emily wore a deep navy suit. They held hands the entire time.

When JJ said “I do,” her voice didn’t shake.

When Emily whispered “Always,” she meant it in every language she knew.

The night ended with dancing under string lights, chocolate cake smudged on noses, and Henry pulling Emily into a slow dance that melted every heart in the room.

JJ watched them from across the lawn, wine in hand, laughter in her throat, and a peace in her chest she had never known before.

She didn’t just survive.

She rebuilt.

And at the center of it all was love—resilient, real, and finally, truly hers.
