They awoke from their sleep, water splashing beneath them as they sat up. Much to their relief, both of them still remained, the serpent sitting nearby as she fidgeted with…a flute?
From what they recalled, they hadn’t seen it before. How it could have gotten there, they had no idea, but if things could leave, they believed it likely that they would be able to appear as well.
Yet, hearing her play, they assumed it had probably been here for longer than they thought. It was comforting, warm within the cold abyss that they both resided within.
They reached for their book, reading over the things they had written from days upon days before, Serpent’s music slowly getting louder as they felt her lean against them.
It was times like these that reminded them of why they loved it there.
