Maman always gets quiet and withdrawn whenever your death anniversary comes. She spends a lot of time at her computer and writes to you, Dad, and Auntie Kiyoko.
I asked her once years ago why she wrote to you, and she said that she did it to talk about memories and what you were like. Maman deletes them afterward because it apparently helps her get her emotions out or something similar along those lines.
I don't know why I'm writing this.
I've never done this before. I don't even know what to say or how to start this. But it seems to help Maman and…and I need some of that.
I don't know why I even got emotional today. I've never gotten like this before, not even on your death anniversaries. I'm sorry for that, Mom. I'm sorry that I don't cry. I'm sorry that I don't feel much of anything, unlike how Maman does.
I think Mira’s parents just…triggered (? Zoey says that's what it's called) something within me. I can't imagine ever treating a child like that, let alone my own. Maman never treated me like that, even when she became withdrawn and quiet. Something about their behavior just prompted me to think about how you, Dad, and Auntie Kiyoko would've behaved.

I still don't know what to say or ask or even think.
I really wish you were here, Mom. Dad and Auntie Kiyoko, too.
Sometimes I dream of a life with you guys still here, but it never feels right, and then I wake up feeling guilty over it. Any life where you, Dad, and Auntie Kiyoko are alive should make me happy, but all it does is hurt me.
Maman always told me stories growing up about you and Auntie Kiyoko. She told me how you and Dad met, but never gave me the full version—she doesn't know all of it, and I want to know.
I want to know how you met and fell in love with a demon. I want to know how that was even possible. I want to know how Dad didn't hear Gwi-Ma or get pulled back down whenever he demanded it.
There's so much I want to know and learn. There's so much Maman can't tell me either.
I miss you, but I'm angry. So so angry that you and Dad left me alone to figure things out. I'm angry that you and Dad left Maman to learn how to raise a baby who's also part demon. I'm so angry, and I hate that I'm angry. I don't want to be angry with you. I don't want to keep feeling like this. I don't want to keep waking up and feeling guilty because it doesn't feel right. I don't want to keep waking up and feeling angry because you and Dad died, and then Auntie Kiyoko died.
I don't want to keep feeling like this, but it feels almost impossible not to stop it now. Maman has tried putting me in therapy, but I always refused to go, and eventually she stopped trying to make me go. As a child, I never spoke to the therapists and just sat there looking around the room, waiting until the time ticked down and I could leave. Do I even deserve to grieve you? Dad? Auntie Kiyoko? I never met any of you.
Sorry. I keep getting off track. This is supposed to be about you, and yet here I am—making everything about me instead of focusing on you.

Okay, so as you guys just found out, I have an older brother. His name is Daesung. He's about nine years older than me.

Daesung was the moderator of our parents' arguments whenever they started getting too verbally abusive and physical to one another. Them getting physical happened rarely, so don't worry about that, okay? I never witnessed much of their arguments because I was always kept in my room.

I'm not sure what it was about me, but for whatever reason, Daesung never liked me. He never liked me as a baby, and as I grew older, I think he began to resent me. I still don't know the reason why.

Our parents were more focused on fighting to notice when he began hitting me and shouting at me for every little thing I did. I couldn't even walk without him shouting or shoving me into the wall.

He wasn't violent or mean to anyone else. Just me. I have some ideas about why he resented me, such as:

1.) He didn't want another sibling

2.) He knew I was the “let's have a baby to save our marriage” baby and hated me for prolonging the divorce

3.) Our parents constantly arguing and threats of divorce (and never going through with them for years) made him aggressive, but he only took it out on me

His mental health was struggling, and the only thing he could control was his actions and behavior (??)

Anyway! I don't wanna get into too much of what he did, but to sum it all up, he was just verbally, emotionally, and sometimes physically with me, y'know, like badmouthing me to anyone who'd listen and name-calling and yelling

He was just always so goddamn angry, and he always took it out on me. He somehow got even worse throughout the divorce and especially whenever I had to fly to my Mom's place in Seoul from Burbank and vice versa

I didn't have to see him much after he turned 18, and he got to choose where he'd live (he chose our Dad's place in Burbank). I was thankful for that.

Daesung contacted me today.
What am I supposed to feel? Anger? Fear? Gratefulness? I don’t know what I’m supposed to feel. I never know what to feel.
He’s in therapy. He’s getting better. He’s getting help.
I should be thankful about that, right? I should be grateful that Daesung is finally getting the help he’s always needed, right?
I should feel something other than this anger, right? I shouldn’t be feeling angry, right? Especially not the kind of anger that makes me want him dead, right?
What kind of person am I? Wanting him dead? He’s family! He’s my only brother! At least from Mom. I shouldn’t want him dead. I shouldn’t want him dead. I shouldn’t!
But that’s all I’ve been feeling lately. I know he was struggling growing up, but what did I do?
What did I do to deserve everything he did to me?
What did I do to deserve every bruise and screaming and shoving from him?
What did I do to deserve him locking me in closets?
What did I do to deserve him being physical with me?
What did I do to deserve him hating me the way he did?
What did I do that was so wrong to him other than being born?
I know I should be grateful he’s still alive after getting hooked on painkillers and other things and is finally getting better, I should be beyond grateful, but I’m not.
All I feel whenever I think about him is fear.
Fear that he would shout at me again. Fear that he would get physical with me again. Fear that he would start getting more violent every time he went out and came back, stumbling in through the door. I was scared the drugs would finally make him snap at me.
I can’t look back at my childhood without fear. Half of my memories are just gone. I don’t remember anything from the moment I could start remembering until I was 9, when our parents finally divorced, and I didn’t have to see him as much.
I’m so fucking angry at him, at our parents, at myself for still feeling like this. My therapist says it’s normal and that healing isn’t linear, but it feels wrong to hate him. He was suffering just like I was.
But every time I think about him, I get angry, and it scares me. I don’t want to be angry at him forever; it doesn’t feel right to still be so angry at him when he’s trying to get better.
He’s trying to get better, and I’m still wishing him dead.
I don’t know what to do, but I’m sure I’ll eventually figure it out.

Okay, so here’s a very shortened basic surface-level explanation about demons!
Basic rundown: demons use the human debunked alpha/beta/omega system. Before you ask, no demons can't transform into wolves, that's just fantasy—folklore if you will. And I just know you're gonna ask (and so is Byungho because he completely forgot 😒), but no, we demons can’t transform into wolves. The only “transforming” we can do is between our human and demon forms, not wolves.
If you’re confused about anything I’m saying, the basic foundation is essentially those weird wolf fanfics Zoey reads all the time. Demons have the same hierarchy as in those stories, but instead of it being alphas as the top rank and omegas being the bottom rank for us demons, it’s the opposite; omegas are the top rank and alphas are the bottom. Betas remain second.
Alpha demons are considered weak and vulnerable because of their humanism. Despite giving up their souls (there’s a difference between these alpha demons and born alpha demons, but that’s for another lesson), they retain a majority of their humanity and a portion of their souls, and therefore Gwi-Ma dubbed them as too weak to join his army. Sometimes, alpha demons are allowed to be in a position of power if Gwi-Ma likes them or if they’re good at planning and listening. If you couldn’t tell, Jinu is an alpha demon.
Betas are, as mentioned above, second in command. These demons (either born or created, it doesn’t matter) are commonly found in leadership positions and generals. They manage the alpha demons and keep them in check. If you couldn’t tell, Byungho and Woohyuk are betas.
Omegas are considered strong and valuable because they bring Gwi-Ma more souls, either in the form of stealing them or giving birth to more demons. Omegas usually retain small slivers of their humanity and just a small portion of their human souls if they made a deal with Gwi-Ma. As you know, I'm an Omega and so is Youngjae!
And yeah, that’s basically the surface-level explanation. If you have any questions, just ask and we’ll answer.

I (23f) have fallen in love with my (23f) best friend. Advice?
For obvious reasons (some acquaintances of mine occasionally browse this site, and I know that a different friend listens to those Minecraft Reddit stories 24/7 on YouTube), this is a throwaway account.
I know that lots of people have fallen in love with their best friends, but knowing and experiencing it are two drastically different things. Growing up, I never understood why people freaked out whenever they discovered that they developed romantic feelings. I always thought that people who kept their feelings secret were stupid or pathetic or something along those lines, but now that I’m in this position? It’s fucking terrifying. I don’t want to ruin our friendship, and since we share a friend group, I don’t want them to feel awkward if she doesn’t feel the same way, and our friendship fizzles out.
For some background information, my friend and I have known each other/have been friends since our lateish teens. Let’s call her Risae. I don’t want to give too much information, considering this is unique to our situation, and anyone who knows us will likely already be aware. Essentially, I started living with her and her guardian until we moved out years later. Risae’s guardian got me and our other close friend jobs at the company she owns alongside Risae—yes, I make nepotism jokes and call her a nepo baby, but Risae worked extremely hard for the position she currently has and deserves it 100%.
Risae hadn't been any kind of gay awakening for me. I already knew that I was gay long before her. Just wanted to put that out there, considering some people think it's strange to crush on your gay awakening person or something like that.
Earlier this month, I realized that at some point my platonic feelings towards her changed into romantic. For some reason, I either never realized or subconsciously deflected or subconsciously refused to acknowledge/accept these feelings. I would've continued to be ignorant of my feelings unless my friend (the one I mentioned earlier that listens to those Reddit stories), let's call her Eunseo, pointed out that I was jealous of Risae going out to hang out with her friends, who are acquaintances of mine—we don't get along but we're civil for Risae’s sake.
I've never experienced jealousy—at least towards someone I'm romantically attracted to—and didn't realize those emotions I felt when I saw one of Risae's friends post about them hanging out was jealousy. I'll admit that I lashed out at Risae's friend, and then he posted about what I called him (it wasn't anything bad or a slur, it was just an inside joke between everyone, no, I don't remember how or when or why it was created), and that's when Eunseo contacted me.
At first, I tried deflecting and claiming it wasn't me and that I wasn't jealous whenever she pointed out that I was, but eventually Eunseo made me realize that no, I was jealous. I was so goddamn jealous, and I was blinded by it when I contacted Risae’s friend. Yes, I plan on apologizing to him. Yes, I plan on apologizing to Risae for my behavior too.
I don't know what to do.
I'm scared to tell her about my feelings. I don't want to ruin our friendship. I don't want to ruin anything, really. I don't have a good relationship with my family, and Risae and Eunseo are honestly the only family I have, and I don't want to lose them in case Risae doesn't feel the same.
But I know I have to be honest. I know that if I wait too long, then someone else will step in and confess first.
How do I rip this Band-Aid off? How do I tell Risae?

It's commendable that you're acknowledging these things.
Most people put off confessing because of the fear, and because they're scared they're gonna ruin everything, and then get heartbroken when the person they're crushing on finds someone and gets into a relationship or marries and has kids.
I know that this doesn't mean anything from an online stranger, but I'm proud of you for having the strength to confess and either lose friends or get a girlfriend.
As for how you should confess to Risae, that's all up to you. You're the only one who knows what Risae likes; she dislikes her dos and don'ts. Use these to your advantage. Take her somewhere she likes and give her everything she likes and tell her that she can always reject you and you won't have any hard feelings if she does, and then confess. Tell her what you like about her, don't just say “you're hot” because that's not going to end well. People don't want a relationship based on appearance; they want a relationship based on authentic, real love—yes, attraction plays a role, but it should be what Risae does that makes you love her.
If you struggle with what to say, write it down. It's easier to read something off a paper than to speak. But I hope everything goes well.

Hi.
It's me. The woman who fell in love with my best friend.
To be honest, I expected to come back on here making an update about Risae not feeling the same way, and it ruining our friendship. That's what I expected to happen. Especially after how I behaved towards her. Yes, I know I was wrong and that I was the asshole for it. Risae spent her birthday with her other friends, and as some people might suspect, I got jealous and, instead of acknowledging it and owning up to it, I ignored her attempts to contact me.
I'm lucky Risae didn't stop trying and didn't give up on me. I'm forever grateful that she still had faith in me. Yell at me in the comments about how stupid and ungrateful and how much of an asshole I am.
Risae and I spoke and actually communicated with each other instead of just ignoring it and leaving it be the way it was. I'm still sad I didn't ask her out the way I wanted, and I know that was because of my insecurities and stupidity, and I promised her that I'd ask her out the way I planned.
You're probably confused as to what I mean. What I mean is that Risae and I are together now 🙂
We're officially dating now. I couldn't be happier.
Before you ask, yes, I am getting therapy, and yes, we're working on our communication.
Thank you to everyone who helped me and gave me advice. You helped me more than you probably know.

I think my friends are ignoring me.
Hey guys, it’s me, your (probably) favorite turtle lover/fun fact poster! It’s been a good couple of months since I last posted anything on here. I haven’t even posted anything related to turtles! Yes, I read everybody’s DMs and questions about whether I’m still alive. I am.
I’m coming on here to figure out if I’m probably overthinking or overreacting or something along those lines. Please be completely honest about this, you guys! I need to know if I’m justified in feeling like this or not.
So I (turtlelover obviously) [22F] have been friends with Hawksbill [24F] and Loggerhead [23F] (yes, I named after species of turtles, what’re you gonna do about it) for almost 6+ years now. Loggerhead and I were closer to one another because Hawksbill was going through some issues that she needed to resolve first. Don’t worry! She’s doing much better 😊. Anyway, it’s a long and complicated story that isn't my place to share or explain.
The problem (I guess) comes in 3 separate parts
1.) Hawksbill has been hanging out a lot with some friends she’s recently made and barely made time for me and Loggerhead. 2.) Loggerhead got jealous because she’s been crushing on Hawksbill for a while, and they had some kind of fight that was totally one-sided on Loggerhead’s part! They just recently got together, too! 3.) Hawksbill and Loggerhead have been hanging out with Hawksbill’s friends a lot more, which leaves me alone in our apartment :(
I feel like I’m reading too much into things because I’m a self-certified people pleaser and have had bad experiences with people pretending to be friends with me.
Idk. I just feel like they hate me or something.

This might be kind of a stretch, but maybe Hawksbill and Loggehead are keeping their distance and hanging out with Hawksbill’s other friends because they think you’re uncomfortable with their relationship, and they don’t want to make you feel like that?

I scrapped a bunch of the questions and responses and eventually just gave up. I'll probably fix the interview portion up and edit this chapter, but that's later rather than soon.
As a heads up, I'm skipping the 6th day and focusing on the 7th day onward because originally I planned on the 6th day having more responses to the interview, but then decided against it.

The Singer’s Elusive Brother Has Agreed to do an Interview
From the moment extraordinary KPop group HUNTR/X exploded onto the entertainment scene six years ago, an air of mystery has always surrounded member Seong Mira, the visual and choreographer, especially regarding her family and past before becoming part of the successful, extremely popular trio.
Every single year, practically every month, fans speculate and theorize about Seong’s past and family life, given the lack of information Seong has provided fans throughout the years. Many have pointed to estrangement due to her “black sheep” and “problem child” persona that Seong and Sunlight Entertainment have been pushing since the announcement of HUNTR/X all those years ago.
Due to a lack of information and to lack of evidence indicating that Seong even has a family, it's pretty clear that fans and netizens alike are desperate for answers to these mystery-shrouded year-long questions that have been strategically avoided and evaded with ease.
Until now.
Recently, Seong’s older brother has agreed to sit down for an exclusive interview with Dispatch following years of attempted contact that ended in rejection or unacknowledgment from Seong's family.
For Seong's brother’s privacy, his name has been changed to simply Jun—this is a fictional placeholder name and does not correlate to his real name.
1. As you probably know by now, your sister's image follows the stereotypical black sheep/problem child/bad girl aesthetic that is pushed by not only herself but also by Sunlight Entertainment. How accurate or genuine is this persona that your sister and Sunlight Entertainment have been pushing for years? Do you agree with it?
“Ah. Honestly, I expected this specific question to come up sometime during this interview, but I probably should've expected it to be one of the very first questions asked [laughter], but yes.
This assessment is fairly accurate, yes. My sister has always been quite rebellious, I would agree. Ever since she was a child, she was always quite a handful for our family, rebellious, disobedient, and a troublemaker. I could go on and on for hours if you'd let me, but this isn't about me.”
2. Can you explain why and where this image began?
“To be honest, here I’m not sure. As I mentioned before, she’s always been rebellious and disobedient, but if I were to guess based on my own recollection, this began very early, almost six? Yeah, six years old is when she began behaving like that. I’m seven years older than her, so when she began misbehaving the way she did, I was about thirteen at the time, and as the older brother, it was my responsibility to look after my little sister, but eventually even I couldn’t continue to help her.
As beloved as she is, no one knows her real personality. She wasn’t a good child, wasn’t even a child our parents could brag about, because as she grew older, she began skipping school and acting out, and I’m going to be brutally honest here for a second, she was a burden to our parents and their health. All of her constant misbehaviour stressed our Mother and Father to the point of fatigue and exhaustion.
As for the why, I’m stumped. I don’t have any possible clue as to what could have potentially caused this rebellious flame in her.”
3. Has your sister ever contacted you following her becoming an idol?
“[Laughs] No. No, she hasn’t. Not even once. Quite sad, honestly.”
4. You've mentioned that your sister was a troublemaker. What kind of trouble did she get herself into?
“Uh, that’s quite a challenging question to answer, not because I cannot think of anything off the top of my head—I actually can think of multiple instances—but because answering this specific question means being here for more than an extra hour.
You see, my sister’s troublemaking tendencies have resulted in legal repercussions. More often than not, our Father would have to retrieve her from a police station because of something she’d done to warrant the police being called on her. As you can imagine, this [is also me not including the numerous charges almost pressed against her] caused a massive strain in the relationship between me, our parents, and her. Even now, all these years later, our relationship remains strained. I wish it weren’t so, but when you have a child and a sibling like her, there’s only so much you can do to help them.
4. Is there anything about her you wish people knew about your sister?
“Unfortunately, for legal reasons, I can’t divulge much information, but I can say for certain that she is not the kind-hearted girl everyone believes her to be. Everything you see regarding her is all a facade. What kind of kind-hearted girl causes their family stress for no reason other than her wanting to be known as a problem?”

Celine just told us some interesting childhood stories about Rumi, so I'm gonna share (expose) my favorite one.
At 6 or 7, Rumi, while Celine was working and cooking simultaneously, snuck outside because she saw a butterfly and wanted to get a better look at it. She chased it and ended up slamming into a tree, and somehow got her head lodged into it, and Celine laughed so hard she couldn't breathe.
