Feather the Explorer

Summary:

Spot Splatter Splash takes her Lalaloopsy friends to go see Feather Tell-a-Tale in the darkened studio. (#TLFW20)

Notes:

Inspired by the Splash and Bubbles episode "Lu the Explorer", which was the premiere episode of the series. This sure was a fun one to put together! I really should write more of these, as I am getting into Splash and Bubbles more. I do wish the entire series were available online somewhere though...

Enjoy this fun light up Lalaloopsy adventure I put together!

Work Text:

The episode started with Cake Dunk 'N' Crumble playing hide and seek in Lalaloopsy Land. "Ready or not, here I come!" Cake said as she began looking for her friends. "Coral, I see you in your swimsuit, standing behind the bush, Bubbles, you're behind a rock, and Spot, you're not even that hidden," Cake said, as Coral Sea Shells, Bubbles Smack 'N' Pop and Spot Splatter Splash emerged from their hiding spots. "That was the quickest hide and seek ever!" Bubbles said. "I barely had time to hide!" Coral added. "How'd you find us so fast?" Spot asked. "I saw part of you peeking out, and you hid there the last time," Cake answered. "Oh," Coral and Spot said. "We've got to find some new hiding spots," Coral said. "But where? We've found all the hiding spots around here," Spot asked.

"Hmm, maybe we should look for new places to play hide and seek," Bubbles answered. "Yeah! Hey, we should be adventurous! We should journey where no Lalaloopsy has ever journeyed before! We should play hide and seek in a darkened studio!" Spot said. "Ooh, yeah? What's a darkened studio?" Bubbles asked. "It's this place in Lalaloopsy Land called 43 Times 24 Plus One Studios, but with the lights off so you can barely see anything!" Spot answered. "Sounds amazing! I think I'll wait here," Cake said. "Aw, Cake, you don't have to stay here! It'll be great fun!" Coral said. "Who's staying here? We all live in Lalaloopsy Land," Cake said as she giggled nervously. "I don't get it. Why don't you want to go? It'll be a fun adventure!" Spot asked.

"Why don't I want to go? I admit, I have a little fear of the dark, but there's a very good reason for it," Cake answered. "Because you can't see anything in the dark and you might get lost?" Spot asked. "Oh, I haven't thought of that. Okay, there are two very good reasons," Cake answered. "Because the dark can be full of weird, creepy Lalaloopsies who can suddenly sneak up on you out of nowhere because you can't see them?" Bubbles asked. "Three very good reasons," Cake answered. "Because the dark is chock full-" Spot weas about to say, until Cake interrupted her. "Please stop giving me reasons! I was going to say, because I've never been there!" Cake told Spot. "You know what, Cake, there's only one way to get over a fear of the unknown. Let's go there and get to know it, then you won't have a reason to fear the dark! Come on, everyone!" Spot said, as Bubbles and Coral followed. "But what about the other three reasons?" Cake asked as she began following the Lalaloopsies.

The four Lalaloopsies then went over to a darkened 43 Times 24 Plus One Studios. "So, this is the darkened studio you girls were talking about!" Bubbles said. "Yep, so glad we saw it, let's go," Cake said. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! We came here to play hide and seek! Let's at least play one round!" Coral said. "Oh, uh, okay, one quick round," Cake said. "I'm it! I'll count! Okay, here we go!" Spot said, as she closed her eyes and started counting while the others went to go find their hiding spots. "Oh, perfect!" Bubbles said as she found a hiding spot in the dark. "Oh, perfect!" Cake said as she got in the same hiding spot. "Cake, this spot is only big enough for one," Bubbles told Cake. "Oh, uh, just scoot over a little," Cake said. "Scoot over where?" Bubbles asked. "Bubbles, just let me hide with you!" Cake said. "But I would if I could!" Bubbles said.

Spot heard the noises and went to see what's going on. "What is happening?" Spot asked. "Cake won't let me hide! I think she's afraid of the dark!" Bubbles answered. "Heyo," Cake said. "Well, you know what? Coral, I see you," Spot said as she saw Coral emerging from her spot. "Here's what I think. We should talk to my good friend, Feather," Spot said. "Feather who?" Bubbles asked. "Feather Tell-a-Tale. She may have tickled me a lot with her feathers, but she did teach me all about dark places in Lalaloopsy Land," Spot said. "Great idea! I bet Feather can help you get over your fear, Cake!" Coral said. "Maybe, but I also have a fear of meeting new Lalaloopsies," Cake said. "Let's just go," Spot said. The four Lalaloopsies then went on over to try to find Feather in the studio.

"Oh, Feather! Feather, are you down here?" Spot asked. "Yoo hoo, Feather!" Bubbles said out loud. "Oh, no one there, let's go home," Cake said as she giggled nervously. "Yoo hoo to you!" a voice said. "Oh, uh, didn't mean to disturb you! Sorry, ma'am!" Cake said. "Hi there!" Feather said, as she was shown to have brought a flashlight along. "You're Feather?" Coral asked. "Well, of course!" Feather answered. "Oh, I just thought you'd be, uh, kind of a," Cake was about to say. "What, what?" Feather asked. "She thought Feather would be a boy Lalaloopsy," Coral said. "Oh yeah! I've gotten that before! But as you can see, girls can be named Feather, and they can be fearless explorers!" Feather said. "Ooh, I like that!" Bubbles said.

"I got my very own flashlight here to light up the area, like this!" Feather said as she turned the flashlight on. "Wow, cool!" the Lalaloopsies said, all impressed. "With this light, I can see in the dark and eat my food all at the same time!" Feather said. "You know what, there are lots more Lalaloopsies I met right here! Why don't we go see who we can meet?" Feather asked. "We'd love to!" Spot answered. "We wouldn't wanna trouble you! Looks like a long way through here!" Cake said. "Ooh, I love your manners! But it's no trouble at all! Here we go!" Feather said as they started making their way through the dark studio to see which friends they can meet. "The dark is my friend, the dark is my friend, the dark is my friend!" Cake repeated to herself.

"There are lots of ways Lalaloopsies work around here in the dark, and they survive just fine! Hey, Sprinkle, where are you?" Feather asked. Sprinkle Spice Cookie then arrived on the scene. "Cool, a Lalaloopsy Little!" Spot said. "Every Lalaloopsy is made differently and has a different personality! Sprinkle here is Crumbs Sugar Cookie's little sister, and while she may be little, she can take in as much light as possible in this dark studio!" Feather said. "And that's how I can see enough to find food, like cookies, around here!" Sprinkle said. "I get it! Sprinkle here is able to see well enough to find food easily!" Bubbles said. "Maybe it's not so strange down here! Are there any other Lalaloopsies in this dark studio who are friendly, of course?" Cake asked.

"You should meet my friend Pix E. Flutters. Pix E. where are you?" Feather asked. "Does Pix E. have a light of her own too?" Coral asked. "She sure does!" Feather answered. "Oh, here she comes!" Feather said, as Pix E. flown on over with her flashlight. "She uses her light to make things easier to see around this dark place, just like I do!" Feather said. "She has a flashlight of her own too?" Coral asked. "Excellent, Coral! That's right! They got their own way of life when they're visiting this dark area!" Feather answered. Feather then broke out in song and sang about the dark, deep part of 43 Times 24 Plus One Studios, with some lines by Pix E. Flutters, showing off the various aspects, like how it's colder in that area, and life in the dark moves a little slower.

"I guess life in such a dark area isn't so scary after all, just different," Coral said. "That's what I've been trying to tell her all along," Cake said. "Cake!" Coral said. "Okay, I may have been a teeny bit worried too, but now I'm ready for anything!" Cake said. "Even to play hide and seek?" Spot asked. "Come on, Cake, let's hide together!" Feather said. "Okay! I know a good spot!" Cake said. "I guess I'll be it," Spot said after all the other Lalaloopsies went to their hiding spots. Spot closed her eyes and started counting, as Feather was shown hiding with Cake. "Uh, you don't mind if I hide with you?" Cake asked. "Of course not! The more the merrier!" Feather answered, as she was shining her flashlight. "Feather, turn your light off," Cake whispered. "Oh yeah, thanks," Feather said as she turned the light off. "Click," Cake said. "Who said that?" Feather asked. "That was me," Click answered, as Spot found where they were hiding. "Hey, I found you!" Spot said as she, Cake, and Feather all giggled.

"Thanks for showing us around the darker side of 43 Times 24 Plus One Studios, Feather!" Spot said. "I really liked meeting your friends!" Coral added. "And Sprinkle was really interesting!" Bubbles said. "Aw, thanks! You too, Bubbles!" Sprinkle said. "Bye, Sprinkle!" Bubbles said as Sprinkle left. "Before you go, I have something for you, Cake," Feather said. Feather showed Cake a fluorescent yellow glow stick. "This little source of light is a glow stick. It glows right through a plastic casing. It does look nice in a dark area, but it's starting to die out, so can you take it back to the brighter part of the studio?" Feather asked. "Wow! It's like my very own little neon night light! Thanks, Feather!" Cake said as she picked up the glow stick. "Wow, that really is an awesome glow stick, Cake!" Bubbles said. "We wouldn't have ever found it if we hadn't gone to visit Feather," Spot said. "I told you there was nothing to be afraid of!" Cake said. The Lalaloopsies all shared laughs together, as this fun light adventure ends right here.
