Chapter 1: Gamma Jack
Chapter Text
Name: Jacques “Jack” Marlowe
Background
- Jack grew up with his parents and an older brother.
- His Mother's family is old money. His father grew up dirt poor.
- His father is a French immigrant. He initially came on a work visa and planned to go home, but Jack's mother threw a wrench in that very quickly (not that he minded).
- His father fought in WWI. Jack was named after his father's war friend. That friend was also his godfather.
- His father focused more on his work until Jack developed his powers. He took more time to figure out why his son was a walking hydrogen bomb.
- His mother was very stern, despite his father's frequent absence; he was the more affectionate parent.
- Jack only moved out of his parents 'house” because he needed to live closer to his college's campus.
- Jack and his brother play golf every other Sunday (unless a villain decides that harassing the public is more important than that).
- His father was never really sure where Jack got his womanizing nature; it certainly wasn't him.
Civilian life.
- He had a PhD. in nuclear engineering, a Master's in nuclear physics, and Master's in biochemistry.
- He never has the same girlfriend for more than 2 weeks.
- His father wanted him to settle down and have kids before he turned 30.
- His favorite color was Prussian blue.
- His 8 least favorite foods were cabbage, raw apples, bell peppers, duck, cream cheese, and pineapples.
- His top 4 favorite foods were tomato soup, wheat bread, spinach, and French fries.
- He enjoyed boxing. His father taught him and his brother whenever he had free time.
- He and Lucius went to the same college and shared 2 class periods throughout their entire college career. The university's professors worked hard to make sure it stayed at 2.
- Simon, Lucious, and Jack often had study sessions. Bob was invited, but he was always called to hero duty. Simon already graduated and passed his bars; he stuck around to keep them on track.
- Jack and Bob made a game of getting Simon to yell at them. It took surprisingly little.
Overlap.
- He researched super abilities and genetics in his free time.
- He was comfortable using Jack as a hero name because it is such a widely used name.
- He had his own secret lab on his family's estate.
- He researched the effect of radiation on plants and wildlife.
- He and Gazerbeam both fought hard to reverse the banning of supers. Jack actually tried to find him by letting Mirage lure him out.
- He preferred working in the early mornings and very late at night. It minimized the number of civilians to look for and left him time in the day for studying.
- He has an awful sleep schedule, second only to Simon.
Hero Life.
- Jack always got the heavy-hitting villains, without fail. His least favorite part of this was always the bruises and broken bones they left on the rare occasion they got close.
- Mr. Incredible, Gamma Jack, and Metaman had the most collateral damage of any other heroes.
- Mr. Incredible and Jack were once banned from working together for a solid 3 months because they destroyed an entire hospital wing (civilians evacuated by Gazerbeam).
- He has tried to mimic Gazerbeams eye beams in private. Mr. Incredible nearly shit himself laughing when he walked in on it.
- His cape isn't just for aesthetics, it is made of a special high density fabric that can protect againt his radiation. It's not uncommon to see a civilian or another hero wrapped in it.

She was born and raised in a rural town outside of Municiberg. Her parents moved after she developed her powers because there were more research resources available.
Abigail was an only child, her parents were both high school teachers.
Abigail has volunteered to help with numerous causes (especially soup kitchens, animal shelters) with her parents since she was 8.
Her grandmother hand sewed and mended her clothing because her parents often struggled financially.
She also took up sewing when she got to middle school, she even sewed her first hero costume.
She got her powers a 10 when she almost fell off her trampoline.
Her favorite foods are chicken noodle soup and her grandmother's pumpkin pie.

She was a valedictorian student her freshman year. Her favorite subject was biology.
She watches cartoons before school each morning and soap operas with her grandmother in the evenings.
She always invites her friends over for sleepovers. They go bird watching on weekends.
Abigail has a falconer license.
Overlap:
She sometimes asks other heroes for help with homework. Usually it's Macroburst, Stormicide, or Elastigirl who try their best to help in between missions.
She nearly failed her sophomore year after joining the NSA. She really struggled to learn to prioritize herself or saving people.
She really enjoys speaking to other heroes, especially older ones. She likes getting new outlooks on life.
Hero Life:
She usually only handles street level crime. She tries to help other supers with big threats but they either coddle her or get annoyed.
She tries her best to only save the day after school but villains really do not care about her academic goals. They always strike during history quizzes.
Everseer is the best when handling her, he has a lot of experience with kids. Stormicide and Macroburst are both reminded of themselves when they see her so they are very patient and supportive.
