Chapter Text

Name: Jaxum "Jax" Borin

Species: Turian

Height: 195cm

Origin: 2149 - Candur, Palaven

Class: Benefactor

Description:  Is he the drama?  You wouldn't expect Jax to be the brilliant CEO of a stealth tech startup at first glance, so long as you've never watched the news.  Born in Palaven's capital of art to a sculptor mother and civil servant father, Jax enlisted in the turian military at 15.  While he lacked skill on the battlefield, his creativity really shined in the barracks, in private quarters... in showers.  Hating the idea of being shot at, the soldier constantly made modifications to his tactical cloak and found a way to hide himself from scanners, masking his body temperature.  A breakthrough in stealth technology, Jax wanted to start a company when he finished his service, but the turian Hierarchy wanted to keep the upgraded cloak to themselves, scaring away Jax's investors.  Shadow investors, which he later discovered to be Sival and Jacqui, gave him the money and assistance he needed to start Delumcore.  The startup quickly increased in value, securing military contracts with almost every species in the galaxy including the turian Hierarchy.  The meritocracy allows Jax to count his time at Delumcore as his civil service so long as he prioritizes their research which currently includes the Tantalus Drive Core. Jaxum quickly became one of Jacqui's closest friends, taking inspiration from her Parisian fashion sense to expand his own wardrobe.  Obsessive and chaotic, he loves to party through the night, collects art, and has a bit of a fixation with psychedelics, uppers, and nice looking turian men.

Notes:

Key Inspiration: Jax's overall design is supposed to be "the gayest turian you will ever meet." I liked the contrast of owning a stealth company but being exceptionally flamboyant. I'm the design director of a clothing brand and well... Mass Effect needs better fashion; Schiaparelli's Summer 25 Couture show had these jackets that looked kind of turian so most of Jax's looks are Schiaparelli inspired. However, the look I drew him in is inspired by a jacket from JW Anderson's Dior debut. Also, Jax isn't a fully original character; he is someone who is mentioned in Cerberus Daily News.
