Chapter Text
Wednesday woke up with her mother’s eyes on her. Before Wednesday could ask anything Morticia signed ‘apparently you’ve been going deaf for the past month.’ Wednesday grimaced and signed back
‘It was tolerable till the explosion’ Morticia immediately responded ‘Wednesday, when Tyler threw you out the window he fractured your skull. They did not catch the fractures to both your eardrums, which have only grown worse. You needed surgery’
Wednesday immediately sat up and voiced “enid-“
Morticia signed ‘your friend Agnes and fester are looking for her. You may join them once you are discharged’
_
Wednesday moved through the motions.
She got hearing aids.
She got her stitches removed.
She got medication.
She got glasses for reading, which she especially hated.
And she finally got discharged.
So now she was packing for her trip to meet fester and Agnes. She had Enid’s phone and that is how she’s kept in contact.
Her mother entered the room, her footfalls changing the vibrations under Wednesday’s feet.
“Hello mother” Wednesday said.
Morticia smiled, Wednesday saw it just as she turned. “You have gotten good at telling when someone walks in”
“What do you need?” Wednesday asked, as her mother finished signing her words.
“I wanted ti make sure you are comfortable with your hearing aids before your journey” she signed.
Wednesday looked to where they were charging. she had gotten two different types. Found that having one of each worked best.
“I am comfortable mother.” Morticia gives her a stern glance “I promise mother”
Morticia smiles, opening her arms, a silent request. Wednesday rolls her eyes muttering “why must everyone be so sentimental” as she was hugged by her mother.
When she pulled away her mother signed asking for her to put her hearing aids in temporarily.
(This is where Wednesday gets the book and Weems leaves)

Wednesday had fallen asleep on the ride, only to be woken by her father as he said “my little tormenta. We are here. This is where we part”
Wednesday nodded thanking her father before she made her way to her uncle, thanking Agnes who now traded places with her. Saying “I need to get back to my family. But keep me posted!”
Wednesday had agreed and then gotten into her uncles sidecar. Greeting thing, ready to find Enid.

Two weeks of nothing. No leads, just stuck in the same hotel, waiting.
Until fester came running in. She turned on her aids as he began to speak “I got a lead. Someone spotted a werewolf and said it had colorful hair. She was only five miles away! Come on let’s go!”
Wednesday immediately grabbed her gear and ran after her uncle, thing on her shoulder.
_
Fester and Wednesday walked quietly through the woods, hunting. But not to kill, to simply find.
Wednesday saw paw prints that she could recognize any day, it was Enid. She didn’t know why Enid was here in this small town north of the border, but she was grateful as she noticed a small cave.
“Uncle fester, look” Wednesday said, pointing towards the cave, the entrance covered in claw marks.
“Oh yeah, those are alpha claws for sure.” Fester said, grabbing his crossbow.
“What on earth do you think you are doing?” Wednesday asked, and he began lowering the weapon in his hands.
“this is dangerous Wednesday. Even if she recognizes you she doesn’t know me.” Fester said.
“Which is why you and thing stay out here. If I scream you can enter.” Wednesday said, her voice stern, final.
Fester reluctantly nodded.
Wednesday stalked into the cave, no weapons in sight. She trusted Enid, even in her wolf form.
As she finally made it to the main part of the cave she heard a low growl, and she smiled.
“Enid?” She asked, her smile clear in her voice.
Said wolf appeared from the darkness, her teeth bared and ready to fight. She had a few new scars, none that would transfer to her human form, but noticeable as her wolf.
“Why did you leave you idiot?” Wednesday asked, her voice cracking slightly. Enid moved closer, still on the hunt. Wednesday sighed and she got down on her knees, opening her arms and she said “I have no weapons,” the wolf titled its head “if I’m going to die. I’d want it to be from your hand. I don’t wanna live without you in my life.” Even if she was beyond angered with Enid for leaving “so. Kill me. Or don’t” Wednesday said. Her eyes closing.
She felt Enid sniffing her before suddenly she was on her back and Enid was attacking her face with her tongue. “Enid-“ Wednesday said, and she couldn’t help but laugh as the wolf wagged its tail and jumped from side to side above Wednesday before she resumed her assault on Wednesday’s face. “I missed you too Sinclair- but please stop licking me” Wednesday said, catching her breath.
Enid huffed and plopped onto Wednesday, laying her head on the goths chest as her tail wagged. Wednesday reached up and rubbed behind the wolf’s ears, catching sight of the girl she loves behind those blue eyes. “Ready to go home?”
The wolf titled her head but nodded. “Well let’s go. My uncle and thing are sure to worry soon” Enid stood up and jumped in a few circles before she followed Wednesday out of the cave.
Once the left thing ran forwards and jumped onto Enid who smiled at him, her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth.
“Fester. Meet Enid.” Wednesday said.
Fester smiled widely as he took the wolf in “wow! An alpha! You got some teeth on you kid! Good for you!”
Enid hadn’t heard a word as thing massaged her head.
Wednesday just smiled.
End of chapter.
