Chapter Text

After Solar comforted Sun a bit and decided to go look for Moon, Sun decided to go and take a walk out.

He didn’t actually know where to go.

He just wanted to stay away from that house, his siblings and..just- everyone.

He loved them all, sure thing, but- he felt like..like a monster for killing his beloved brother..

To just blow him up like that..

But he didn’t have a choice!

No..he did.

He had a choice.

Kill Moon, the brother he knew for the longest but who used to hurt him, lie to him, treat him like he was a test subject..he just blamed his incompetence of talking about emotions due to him not knowing how to do ‘emotional talks’.. but he couldn’t blame him..

Or..

Kill New Moon Nexus, the brother who came after, but still gave him support, help him emotionally, who always showed his love, who actually cared for him. He did, he was sure. Or he didn’t..? Maybe he never did..but he was a way better brother than Moon.

Moon just made him feel bad and guilty. New Moon Nexus just was better. But..

Was.

He..was..

Now. Now..? Now Moon Nexus turned to the other side of the coin. He just snapped. He wanted now power. He wanted to be his own person. He hurt his family. He was like this now.

But it was all Sun’s fault..was it?

That’s what he said..

Sun made him just a tool..he couldn’t move on from Moon, so he never let him be his own person.

He had to be better than Moon..but had he really had to..?

He was right.

It was Sun’s fault.

He made him feel that way.

 

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Why did you do this?!

You killed your own brother! How could you?

You are such a monster.

What now? Are you going on a killing spree of every sibling you have?

Will you just forget him like this? No. You won’t, you can’t.

He’s still your brother, Sun.

Maybe- maybe you should follow him, in hell.

You are just as bad as he is was.

You are no better than him.

“But- w-what about..Moon..? Or Solar..or Earh..or- or perhaps even Dazzle! Lunar.. what about them?! They’d never forgive me! I can’t just..leave them. They need me! They d-“

“Do they?” A voice came from behind Sun.

He actually went on autopilot for a bit..wait.

Where was he?

He said to Lunar that he went on a walk.

Where did he go..?

..

Oh.

He was back..home.

He was in his old house.

The one he initially had with..Nexus.

He didn’t realized that he was staring for a long time at that familiar house.

 

As he turned around, to the sea, he saw him.

He saw Nexus.

No..

That was..

That was Moon..

His sweet Moon..

His Moon that would’ve comfort him when he started hallucinating BloodMoon.

His Moon that had done so much for him..

He loved him so much..

“Do they actually care about you, or are they just pretending.?” He softly spoke.

“W-what..? What d-do you mean b-by that..?” Sun muttered out. He couldn’t keep some sobs that escaped his voice box.

“I mean- do they actually love you? You siblings. Do they?”

No..

He didn’t know.

Maybe he was right?

“You are just a burden to them. They just think you are a bloodthirsty monster who will soon go on a killing spree, and finish off them all.”

Sun was shocked.

Was Moon right?

What if he actually was..

Did they even care about him?

Well..

Moon didn’t give two shits about Sun being completely traumatized from blowing up his brother.

Solar. he comforted him, yes, but- did he really ment to do that, or was he just doing that just to make himself feel better..?

Lunar didn’t care so much. He did, true but just not as much as Sun wanted to expected him to.

Earth, for her he was just a bother. She probably had enough of ‘therapy session’ and of Sun’s breakdowns.

Dazzle just didn’t feel comfortable enough for Sun being her dad. He knew it. He just made her suffer, now that she had to see him so- so tired. He was just a mess.

What if he just listened to Nexus..?

They probably would be together..once again.!

Sun liked the way that sounded.

He hesitated at first.

But then he saw that soft voice of his brother that called him from the sea.

“Sun..come with me brother. We will be still together! For how much you want! Don’t you miss me, brother..?” Of course Sun missed him!

So he just- looked deep in the sea that was circling the island.

He would’ve been happy.

They all would’ve.

So he took a step closer to the edge of the bridge.

Then one more.

And another one.

And another one.

And..he went down.

He closed his eyes.

And let the sea do whatever it wanted with his body.

He didn’t care anymore.

He couldn’t.

He was the only one that suffered and survived this long.

But he just a wanted a break.

So he drown.

But he felt an hand on his left arm. He was loosing consciousness, his eyesight giving up on him and then..he was in Nexus’ arms.

It was so comforting.

He needed that warmth.

Chapter Text

Moon and Solar were finally back at the house.

Solar had to scold Moon like a child.

Well, that was kinda earned and Moon seemed to understand, so they both went back in the house to tell to Moon apologize to his traumatized brother.

Once they got in, Lunar was loudly sleeping in the couch.

“Lunar?” At Moon’s voice, the smaller bot woke up instantly.

“Do you know where’s Sun? We needed to talk to him.” Solar jumped in the conversation speaking with a concerned tone.

“Uhh, he went on a walk a few hours ago..” The half asleep bot replied, “What?! And you let Sun go out?”
“yeah..? He’s a grown adult!”
“But he’s not mentally stable at the moment! ..anyways..do you know where he went and how long ago?”
“Uhh yeah- like..4 hours ago..? 3? I think? No wait..I’ve been sleeping for..oh! 5 hours I think!”
“5 HOURS?!”
“I think!”
“Oh my god. W- do you have any idea of where he could be?”
“Maybe I know..” Moon spoke after the concerned silence in the room.

After Moon opened a portal, him and a confused Solar stepped in.

The confusion on the solar bot suddenly turned into a worried one and a nostalgic look popped out in his eyes.

They were at the old beach house.

“Sun!! Sun..!” Moon and Solar kept screaming at their brother’s name, hoping for a “I am here!” Response by him.

But there was nothing more than silence as they almost finished to circle the whole island.

When they finally arrived at the bridge thing, they saw him.

Sun was muttering under his breath random words almost inaudible to anyone.

“Sun..? Hey bud, what are you doing here at the brid-“ Moon couldn’t take another step near his brother as he took a step more, near the edge.

Then he fell in the water.

“SUN-?!” Solar rushed in the bridge as fast as possible, meanwhile a frozen Moon was staring at where his brother last step was.

He couldn’t move nor speak.

He just saw his own brother drown.

Solar tried to grab Sun’s hand in the water but it was already too deep.

Moon suddenly snapped out of his shock, rushing toward the bridge, right next to the solar bot who was literally crying his soul out.

He, then put his whole arm in the water trying to reach for his poor brother.

Then he felt a wrist and he grabbed it, trying to pull it out of the dark water.

Solar helped too and doing so, they finally pulled Sun out of the sea.

They both were in tears, why did Sun do this? He could never do a similar thing! Or could he..? No, no that was a minor issue. Sun was more important.

Moon opened a portal directed to parts and service as they dragged out an almost dead Sun into it.

Sun was finally in peace.

He finally could have his break!

But for how long..?

Meh, that didn’t matter right now.

In that moment he could feel nothing and everything and then nothing again. He knew everything and nothing. He was everything and nothing.

He wasn’t sure what was that feeling, but it felt so- calming and relaxing. His well deserved break from everything that has happened.

He liked this feeling.

It was new for him.

He could finally understand what everyone felt when they just died.

It was a peaceful experience.

Suddenly, Sun felt a warm embrace growing from outside.

He opened his eyes to never close them never again.

His baby brother maintained his promise.

There they were, Sun and Moon. Hugging each others.

Sun wanted to cry his eyes out, of how he missed that feeling, no. No, of how much he missed his baby brother.

“Hey..Sun” the lunar bot spoke with a soft voice.

Sun couldn’t say anything because everything seemed to be muffled by sobs, so he just smiled.

The truest smile he ever had.

 

But that didn’t last long.

As suddenly, all the warmth flew away. Sun tightened his grip on Nexus’ hands, but they started to disappear.

Sun’s eyes went wide and a desperate look popped out in his face as his brother gave him a soft look while disintegrating into dust.

“See you in the afterlife, again, Sun..” his voice was the last thing Sun heard as suddenly he didn’t felt anything, to just wake up on the chair of parts and service.

 

In that moment his ears rang loud and his simulated breaths started to become heavier and heavier.

He felt disoriented, why was he here?! Wasn’t he with his brother..?

Suddenly a muffled voice came out somewhere, it was soft and warm with a concerned tone as he pulled his head up just to see a blurry blue image.

That was oddly familiar..

“Nexus..?” Sun said in a breathy voice.

“Oh, uhm..Sun..” That wasn’t Nexus..? His memory was covered by fog, that’s why he couldn’t exactly remember.

Then a rayed, orange bot showed up.

‘Who could that be..?’ But suddenly his vision was less blurry and his memory less foggy.

That was.. “Solar..?” Oh! He said that aloud.

“Yeah..hey buddy..how are you feeling..?” He spoke slowly and softly. Sun’s head flashed full of memories with him as his eyesight grew clearer.

“Ow..!” Tho that hurt a lot.

After processing what Solar asked he gave a dry and confused reply,
“Weird..why am I here..?” He was scared of the why he was- wherever he was.

“Does he..remember orrr..?” A nightcap popped out Solar’s back.

Nexus..! But..no..he felt more..scared..of that Moon..

“I think he had a slight panic attack..but now he seems okay..I guess..”

“W-who..” Sun didn’t know how to phase it. ‘Who is he?’ Too direct on Moon. ‘Nexus..?’ Nope, too too direct. So he just opted for the truthful one.

“Who are you..?” He sure, was having an headache just because he remembered in the moment who Solar was, but was that Nexus or Moon.?

“Oh..uh,-“ Solar started to panic a little; Sun couldn’t remember?! Did they mess up his memory chip while getting him a new body..? Oh god- No, it couldn’t be, maybe Sun’s memories were still processing everything..!

“Okay so, let’s take this calmly, okay? ..I’m Moon, your brother, and he’s Solar, our other brother..do you remember Sun..?” Moon hoped that they didn’t erased Sun’s memories as his memory chip was still intact..

“Moon..” and not Nexus..

“Yea..” Moon didn’t want to believe he just wiped Sun’s memories!

“W-where’s N-Nexus..?” Sun was scared of an eventually reply, as his head hurt so bad from a sudden flash of memories coming up from him.

Until his eyes grew wide and his breath began to hitch.

He killed Nexus.

“N-no..NO. I didn’t- I-i couldn’t- IT WASNT ME! I- I DIDNT KILL HIM.. I-“ Sun started to panic, hitched sobs came out of his voice box. How could he kill his poor brother?

“Woah- WOAH, Sun calm down..it’s okay..” Solar snapped out of his silence, grabbing Sun’s hand who was already pulling his rays due to the sudden panic.

“ITS NOT. I-ITS NOT OKAY! HOW IS IT OKAY..? I- I KILLED HIM I AM A MO- MONSTER..! IM SORRY..I-IM SO S-SO SOR-RY” Sun began to repeat impulsively the last few words between sobs and tears.

Moon and Solar didn’t know what to do. Should they snap him out of it? Or should they just watch their brother having a panic attack!?

They decided to go in the risky path as they exchanged a worried look, both understanding each other’s minds.

“Hey bud, calm down..yeah..you did some bad stuff..but who doesn’t nowadays..!” Moon’s soft voice reminded Sun of Nexus’.

“Everything’s okay Sun..we’re here” Solar crouched down next to Sun and also, Moon did so.

Meanwhile Sun began to calm down, his head was begging for help: fresh, hurtful memories flashed through his mind. “M-make it stop..p-please..” Sun was clearly exhausted.

“Make what stop..? You alright Sun..?” Solar’s gaze switched from Moon to Sun, trying to figure out what was going on.

“T-the pain..! It hurts..it hurts!” Sun tried to speak but suddenly his vision went blurry, and he started losing consciousness from exhaustion of the pain and from being, yk-, just powered up in a while.

Moon and Solar figured that Sun’s memories were just popping out in the moment and that was why he was in pain, so they decided to bring him home.
