"In some ways Power Joe was no different from the average film buff, admiring Shadowmaru in a purely abstract and impersonal manner. Still, the distance between them was not far enough to *keep* the feeling impersonal; there were times where Shadowmaru felt certain that Power Joe had a little more than stars in his eyes.
“The best of everyone, huh? You really are a fanboy.” She hummed, thoughtfully. “If you aren’t here for an autograph… what do you want from me?”
Power Joe started backwards as if threatened, optics sparking with doubt. The poor mech— Shadowmaru didn’t know what it was that made him shrink away. It wasn't lack of confidence in himself, if she could judge by the countless spats they’d gotten into over whose methods were superior. (Mostly initiated by herself, because she liked to watch his internal temperature spike dramatically every time she called him outmoded and second-rate.)"
