      Switch from HTML to Rich Text, hit the 7th button from the left on the toolbar.

      Your image needs to be hosted on an image storage site (like imgur), images saved to your computer's hard drive won't work because they're not uploaded to AO3 when you insert them in a work, they're just linked/displayed from another online source.

      I don't know a lot of tech shit so I can't really explain it beyond that. XD

      I'm pretty sure there's a tutorial about adding images somewhere in the site's FAQ? here, i searched up the link for ya: https://archiveofourown.to/faq/posting-and-editing?language_id=en#embedimage
