A Story Where Varian Doesn't Die at the Broken Shore

Summary:

"Anduin!" said Varian as he walked in through the keep doors, "I'm home from the Broken Shore!"

"Hurray!" Anduin cried, he ran merrily to greet his father and gave him a big hug; "How was your time at the Broken Shore?"

"Brilliant," said Varian; "we all had a good time, we defeated Gul'dan and sent the Legion packing."

"That's fantastic," replied Anduin, "I knew you could do it, because you're the greatest dad in the world."

Notes:

I think I'm usually a bit more of a serious writer, but after watching a certain sad cinematic I wanted to write something utterly ridiculous; this little bit of crack was first inflicted unto the world some months ago.

Work Text:

"Anduin!" said Varian as he walked in through the keep doors, "I'm home from the Broken Shore!"

"Hurray!" Anduin cried, he ran merrily to greet his father and gave him a big hug; "How was your time at the Broken Shore?"

"Brilliant," said Varian; "we all had a good time, we defeated Gul'dan and sent the Legion packing."

"That's fantastic," replied Anduin, "I knew you could do it, because you're the greatest dad in the world."

While the two were high-fiving, Jaina walked in and held her arms out to Anduin. "Where's my favorite 'nephew'?" she asked, "Come give your Aunt Jaina a hug. I'm just doing absolutely amazing, and I'm not going to storm out of my leadership of the Kirin Tor or anything."

"That's great!" Anduin said, he now moved to hug Jaina and to include her in the quite intense high-fiving that's been going on between him and Varian.

Around that time Vo'ljin walked in and greeted everyone; "Oh yeah," Varian said, "Vol'jin and I became friends over at the Broken Shore, because we were just both doing so well there that we had developed a deep respect for one another."

"Ya, mon," Vol'jin said, "Also, I not be dyin' or anyting."

Genn Greymane, who had been waiting shyly behind a pillar, now trotted in in his adorable worgen form, as he was just utterly chuffed to see Varian return home safely; by then the high-fiving was nearing critical levels when Vol'jin had a new announcement for his recently-acquired Alliance pals.

"Also, we be finding your son over at da Broken Shore," he said to Genn.

"Wot?" Genn sputtered, "But that's impossible!"

And yet, through some inexplicable means at that very moment Liam trotted into the keep, and Genn might have thought it was some sort of Hordish trick, except that in his worgen form he could clearly recognize his son by his scent.

"Father!" Liam exclaimed, and then a merry reunion was had by the two.

"Where in the hell have you been over the past years?" Genn asked, and Liam shrugged in response. "Iunno," he said, "but here I am now, isn't that great?"

"It sure is," said Anduin, "now we can go on and do princely things together."

It was at that moment that Wrathion busted in through the still-open door, visibly jealous that princely things were about to ensue between Anduin and a prince who wasn't him; by then he had become a majestic-looking drake whom Anduin couldn't help but admire even as his father shook his fist in an obvious show of dislike.

"Get a load of me, Anduin Wrynn," Wrathion said; "I'm about thirty percent hotter now than I was last time you saw me."

At that, he changed into his human guise, and indeed Anduin had to admit he was looking no less than thirty percent hotter.

"You are so hot now, Wrathion," said Anduin, and Wrathion said, "I know."

By then Varian and the others were starting to hate on Wrathion, but Wrathion said, "Hold up, mortals; what you don't know is that the reason things had gone so well at the Broken Shore is because I was the one who saved all of you. You know my goal had always been to protect Azeroth from the Legion."

"Oh!" said Varian, "Well, in that case, all is forgiven!"

"Yes!" Jaina and Vol'jin chimed in, and then Wrathion proposed marriage to Anduin, but Varian still beat him up.

Notes:

A/N: I would love to find someone interested in RPing wranduin, Illidan/Kael'thas, Varian/Arthas, and various other m/m pairs from WC; I'm actually much more of a serious writer than this little story might lead you to believe, hehe ^^ I don't mind if you don't know that much lore, if you're new to Warcraft or to RPing, or if English isn't your first language; I just like writing with someone else who's passionate about the same stuff =) If you're over 18 and think you might be up to it, please let me know (contact info on my profile). Thank you!
