"Luffy," he said, this time at a normal volume, and spread his arms wide open. Roger barely managed to make out the pair of eyes hiding in the bushes right in front of him. "C'mon, bring it on."
Roger had a certain expectation of what would happen next. He didn't expect a small body to fly out of the bushes like it was shot out of a slingshot, rubbery arms wrapping themselves around Ace's body multiple times.
For his part, Ace seemed to have expected exactly that, his feet braced against the ground firmly enough to keep him stable.
"Hi baby," Ace muttered, his voice so soft, pressing a kiss against Luffy's temple. "I'm sorry it took so long, but I'm here now. And I'm not going anywhere, yeah? I won't leave you alone again."
"...really?" The kid's voice sounded... off. Roger had no idea what it was supposed to sound like, but as it was, it felt like Luffy hadn't spoken in a while.

Perona hates living in Kuraigana. Sure, the island is perfect and everything she ever wanted for a home but Mihawk and Zoro's presence ruined everything. They were mean, ungrateful to everything Perona did for them and never paid attention to her.
Except that suddenly Zoro is nice to her and Mihawk doesn't scold her for hours for throwing juice in his face. It was much easier to hate them when they were acting like brutes.

Perona misses her old family and before she knows it, her annoying roommates become her family too.

The grin is wide, all sharp teeth and sharp edges, and she knows that outsiders have found the expression to be unnerving. Menacing even. The red, glowing eyes, the teeth glinting in the dark, the corners of his lips pulled up sharply. Yes, she can see how it could be considered threatening.
But not to her. Nami only sees an unending hunger for life. For joy and adventure. The red in his eyes is not the red of a hell yet to be unleashed on this world, it's the red of a sunrise breaking over the sea. His grin is not warning her to stay away, it is taunting her to join him.
'What? Scared?', it teases as he takes her hand and leads her into a new era.
'I haven't been scared since the dust of Arlong Park settled at my feet.' Nami thinks as she flicks at the cloud and watches him softly laugh in reaction. 'I will never be scared again.'

RAAAAAAAAAUUUUGH the love the Straw Hats have towards Luffy😩💗 Their Captain, their King, their God? Ug natural devotion and love at its finest. The sound of drums, how the sight is more peaceful and never scary? Wondering when everyone in the crew heard the drums, Belonging to Luffy?🤧❤️🔥💞uuuuuig there's so much packed into here, and I loved every last word, I could see everything in those bright colors- not too bright, but just enough to really nail how happy and free everything is🫶🏼
