    "I'm sorry, Dick," she whispered to no one. The sliver of moonlight cutting through the darkness to keep her company in her misery. "I'm sorry for never telling you how much I loved you. I'm sorry for pushing you away and hiding. I swear- I- if we loved again, I swear I'd love you right. I know it means nothing now and you aren't here, but I swear...." she trailed off with a broken laugh. "Gods, if I were a worse person, if I were a selfish person, I'd go back in time and make it all right. I'd stay. Tell you everything."

    She closed her eyes, feeling the warm tears that threatened to freeze her eyes shut.
