His six years of effort to avoid him since then is rendered pointless when he receives an offer to join the Black Jackals.
(In which Sakusa Kiyoomi and Miya Atsumu were lovers in the past - 400 years later, they are reborn with their red string of fate no longer connected. One of them has forgotten what they used to be, what they used to have.

“So, Valentine’s Day is at the end of the week—”
“How could I forget,” Sakusa mutters.
Atsumu glares at him. “Anyway, I was thinking that we could do something. Since, ya know, we’re both busy and shit. Though it’d be fun.” He shrugs, trying to play it off as casual even though Sakusa can clearly see the tips of his ears turning bright red. “We could make dinner together or something.”
Sakusa makes a face at him. “Make dinner? Why would I want to do that?”
“I mean, ya don’t have to, I just—” He sighs and hits his head against the arm of the chair then pops back up. “Please, Omi-Omi? It’ll be fun, I promise!”
Sakusa screws up his face, but he already knows what his decision is going to be.
Or, it's Valentine's Day and neither Sakusa or his roommate Atsumu have a date, per usual, so they decide to just spend it with each other. Better than spending it alone, anyway.

“I’m Atsumu! What’s your name?”
The boy mumbled out an answer, and because his voice was muffled by his mask, all Atsumu heard was “...Omi.”
“Omi?”
“Kiyoomi,” the boy said in a much clearer voice.
But Atsumu was already attached to the name. “Omi-Omi! Let’s go!” Shamelessly, he grabbed him by the hand and tugged him behind him. He felt responsible for him — the boy clearly needed all the protection and guidance he could get. Atsumu can be his hero.

The story started when the Sakusa family moved into their neighborhood in Amagasaki when they were nine. Atsumu would always remember that he saw Kiyoomi first.

Atsumu smiled, wrapping an arm around Kiyoomi’s shoulders and pulling him closer. “Ya don’t feel like throwin’ up or kickin’ me in the face, do ya?”
“I’ve never kicked anyone in the face.”
“Ya’ve thought about it.”
“I’m thinking about it right now.”
Atsumu chuckled, rubbing slow circles into Kiyoomi’s shoulder.
“You don’t make me anxeous…surprisingly,” Kiyoomi muttered after a pause.
Atsumu grinned. “That supposed to be a compliment?”
“Take it however you want.”
“Oh, I’m takin’ it as a huge one.”

“It was Samu’s idea,” Atsumu blurts.
“Pull over.”
Atsumu accelerates the car a smidge. “No.”
“Pull the car over.”
Atsumu gestures at the narrow path. “I can’t.”
Kiyoomi groans into his hands. “When you told me to wear comfortable clothes for walking, I didn’t realize you were taking me to a forest.”
“I figured it would be fun to do somethin’ new!”
“What about camping screams ‘fun’ for someone like me?”
“Someone like you?”
“Turn the car around.”
“Not now,” Atsumu says, more determined. “I wanna do this with you, Omi.”
That makes Kiyoomi hesitate. “Why?”
“Goddammit, I toldja why,” Atsumu snaps. “I wanna spend time with you.”
After a particularly busy summer, Kiyoomi and Atsumu’s relationship has hit a major lull. In a demented effort to save it, Atsumu takes Kiyoomi on a camping trip. It might just be what breaks them.
Or maybe it’ll be their new beginning.
