Summary
Dean was four years old when he lost his mother, when his father lost his wife. When their family lost the sweet center of it and left them orbiting around in the weightless space, without any grounding point.
Their life went on, because that's how it goes. Dean stepped up to take care for baby Sam, and he absolutely nailed it.
Then, it came a day when Dean stayed under the table, without coming out.
Sam is ten months, Dean 5 years old (6 months and four years when their mother Mary died).

Summary
“There’s no way,” Austell says. “That’s——he looks like someone’s dad.” Someone’s criminally hot dad, but still. He’s not splattered with blood with a haunted look in his eyes, not itching for a fight, not toting a bloodthirsty angel along on a leash. Jeanie has to be wrong, there’s no other way around it. “No fucking way is that Sam Winchester,” Austell mutters.
“That’s Dean,” Jeanie unhelpfully corrects. “Why do you look so scared?” She laughs. “He doesn’t bite.”

They come in one day and leave just as abruptly, but Montana can't stop thinking about them, especially when she connects their sudden disappearance to the murder of a local. Besides, there has to be something wrong with them if they're talking about harvesting frog eyes, right? Too bad everyone just writes her off as homophobic and ignores her worries…

Summary
Mary Winchester is a lesbian. She has no idea how to tell her children.
“Look,” said Mary, before Dean could speak, “I was thinking. We should all go out tonight. Do something fun. I want to go to a bar. Maybe even…” She took a deep breath. “A gay bar.”
Dean choked on nothing. “A… what?”
“A gay bar,” Mary continued. “I’ve always wanted to go to one, and better late than never, right?”
“You talk to her,” Dean said faintly to Sam, before drifting back out of the room. Shit.
Sam bit his lip. “Mom, gay people are like…I mean, they’re people, right? Would you like it if a gay person went to a straight bar and stared at everyone there?”
Oh, double shit. “I just—”
“I know you want to show Dean you support him,” said Sam, “but this isn’t the way.”
I’m a lesbian, Mary tried to say, but all that came out was, “Oh. I see.”

Summary
“Man, look—you make fun of me for doing girly things like—like eating vegetables, or whatever, right?" Sam says. "And I’m still a guy. I feel like a guy."
“I don’t even know what that means, dude,” Dean replies, taking a pull from his beer. “I’m just a dude because… ‘cause I am.”
“Yeah, but also ‘cause you feel like it.” Sam insists. Then he frowns at him, studying his face. “You... You don’t… feel like a guy all the time?”
