When Izuku comes to, he’s lying in a puddle and missing a shoe. He rubs his head and sits up. He’d been in the middle of stopping an armed bank robbery when one of them had hit him with a beam of light, and now he’s sore and bleary-eyed in a vaguely familiar playground. In civvies, he realises abruptly. His one visible sock has a dog face printed on the toes.
“Good job, dummy,” snorts someone behind him. “Can you go five minutes without almost knocking yourself out?”
Izuku turns. It’s a little blond boy with red eyes and a smirk Izuku definitely remembers. “Kacchan?”
“What, did you hit your head?”
Slowly, Izuku stands. Everything’s big. Frowning, he checks his reflection in the puddle he just fell into. He’s met with big eyes and unruly green hair. “Holy shit,” he says quietly. “I’m tiny.”

In front of Izuku, Katsuki shifted slightly, his body leaning back against Shinso’s front. Katsuki tilted his head, just enough to meet Shinso’s smoldering, tired eyes. Shinso’s hand didn’t move from Katsuki’s hip, and Katsuki’s expression softened in a way Izuku had never seen before.
And for some reason he didn’t want to unpack right now, Izuku saw red.

Summary
Katsuki is drunk, sick, and miserable when he finds himself thrown out of a club onto the street outside. There, he runs into the last person he wants to see, who very much wants to see him.
“Excuse me, sir! Are you alright?”
Katsuki froze, like an animal under attack. It was easy enough to spot the source of the voice, standing in that new shiny suit as he was.
Izuku stood at the street corner about thirty meters ahead of him, but the figure he was flagging down was a salaryman leaning against a wall and puffing at an inhaler, waving away the help. Izuku, of course, asked him about four more times if he was sure he was alright, then kept watch as the man continued on.
Oh, fuck. He was going to turn around.
Katsuki did a 180 himself, speeding up his steps to turn at the next street, to escape the possibility of Izuku’s sight, and run away from the very person he’d been putting shots back to try and forget.
