Chapter Text
2.1
Izuku was a bit confused when he woke up.
Instead of being human, the ninth holder of the One For All found himself stuck in the body of a horse with a minty green coat, a similarly colored, slightly curved horn sticking out from the top of his head. His mane was styled much like his original hairstyle, while his tail matched with the same amount of fluffiness. His also noticed a mark on his flank, a black shield with nine stars of all different colors. A larger green one sat in the center while the other eight stars circled around it.
His Loop Memories came in, supplying him with his new identity. Apparently, he was currently Selfless Star, a unicorn who had discovered he had a talent for heroics after helping many different creatures, no matter who it was or what the problem was. Several ponies suggested he become a Royal Guard, but he decided to go out on his own and be a hero in his own way.
“Izu-nii?”
The Anchor turned to the voice, finding another unicorn, this one just a filly. Her hair and coat were both white, with her mane and tail both being a simple straight style. Her horn, however, was a bit different one. Instead of coming from the middle of her forehead, it was off to the side and was similarly curved compared to his.
“Eri?” Izuku asked the filly. “Is that you?”
The filly nodded, a few tears in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“I can’t walk,” Eri replied.
To prove her point, she stood up and tried to take a few steps forward.
Key word: tried.
In her attempt, she swayed awkwardly and fell over, looking up to Izuku with a defeated look in her eyes.
“Hey, don’t worry,” Izuku tried consoling the filly. “I’m sure we can get it worked out.”
Izuku reviewed his own memories, trying to remember how his Unawake self moved around. For a few minutes, he struggled and came close to tipping over, unable to find his center of balance, before managing a steady trot.
“See?” He said to Eri. “Just takes some getting used to.” He trotted back to her, offering a hoof. “Now, how about we go see who’s Looping around here?”
Eri gave him a small smile as she steadied herself against him, back on all four hooves and ready to follow.
“I’m quite fascinated by your world,” a certain lavender unicorn said as she poured the three of them some tea via telekinesis. “The concept of super powers appearing as an evolution factor in humans has only appeared in a few worlds, mostly that of the X-Men. And normally it only occurs within a minority.”
“Yeah, it is a pretty interesting world, Twilight,” Izuku replied, “but it can also be pretty bad, too. There can be quite a bit of racism depending on what your Quirk is, or even if you have one. I know I got the short end of the stick in Baseline when I was diagnosed Quirkless.”
“I sense some hostility,” Twilight pointed out. “Did you have a couple of bad Loops?”
Izuku shrugged, making a ‘so-so’ motion with his hoof. “It’s not so much that I had a bad Loop as it is that my Baseline always has me having a pretty crummy time before I meet All Might and go to UA. And I had a Loop where my Unawake self saw how the world could be.”
Twilight raised an eyebrow. “How bad is that?”
Izuku sighed. “There is a good portion of the government that is corrupt, mostly those that handle the heroes. A good chunk of the villains I met weren’t always evil for evil’s sake, but were often forced into said positions due to the mentioned racism, usually because their Quirks are considered ‘villainous’ for whatever reason. Quirkless people are often looked down upon by society and seen as dead weight for not having any powers. Several heroes commit acts worthy of villains themselves, the Number Two Hero committing several cases of abuse, while the government covers it up in order to keep the public favoring heroes.”
Twilight winced. “Yeah… that’s pretty bad.”
“Yeah… I understand why my Unawake self decided to be a villain that Loop.”
The native Anchor smiled. “Well, you don’t have to worry about that in this Loop. Sure, there might be some minor racism amongst certain species, but it usually doesn’t amount to anything other than a few ponies thinking poorly of other creatures, and vice versa for other creatures to ponies. Other than that, things are mostly peaceful, so you can take a bit of a vacation.”
“Is that really alright?” Izuku asked. “Don’t you need help with anything?”
Twilight shook her head. “Our Loop is a Sanctuary Loop, so you can do whatever you please, within reason, of course. There are only so many problems that pop up over the years, which my friends and I can easily dissolve thanks to Loops of practice.”
“Okay, I guess,” Izuku replied, his voice unsure. “I guess Eri and I can practice using magic then, right Eri?”
The white filly looked up from where she had been attempting to levitate her cup, the ruby red aura disappearing as she did so. “Yep! I wanna learn magic!”
Twilight chuckled at the girl’s enthusiasm. “Well, I can certainly get you two started. Have you been to any other Loops where you would have something similar?”
“Well, I’ve been to the Naruto Loops and was a Senju,” Izuku explained, “but that’s mostly it aside from variant Loops where I just get another Quirk.”
“Ah, did you learn Wood Release?”
Izuku smiled. “Yep. I’ve got the basics down, even managed to create some Wood Clones. I want to learn Shadow Clones, but I didn’t have enough Chakra by the end of the Loop to do so without knocking myself out.”
“I see. Does Eri have any powers?”
The filly shook her head. “This is my first time in the mu… mul-tea-verse.”
“And she’s only Looped about… five times?” Izuku supplied. “I know there were a few Loops in between where she wasn’t Awake.”
“Of course,” Twilight responded. “Does she know how to Ping and use the Subspace Pocket?”
“Uh, she knows how to use the Pocket, but what’s Pinging?” Izuku asked.
Twilight blinked. “Was Naruto the one to give you the “Welcome to the Multiverse” speech?”
“Yeah?”
She facehooved. “Of course. He may be one of the oldest Loopers, but he’s still a knucklehead.” She composed herself. “Pinging is akin to sonar, in this case one for Loopers. When you send out a Ping, other Loopers, and only Loopers, can feel it. And while you can’t tell who sent it out, you can feel the basic direction it comes from.”
Izuku nodded. “I get it. That way I know how many people are Looping.”
“Yes, but remember it isn’t an automatic thing,” Twilight added. “You have to send a Ping out for others to know you’re Looping, and others have to send out it for you to know their Looping. Even then, there are people who knowingly will not Ping and will hide the fact they’re Looping, usually because they just want a break. Or they might want to play a prank on the other Loopers.”
“Can we find Loopers any other way?” Eri asked, still trying to levitate her cup.
Twilight hummed in thought. “Well, new Loopers who simply don’t know what is going on can be easy to find. If you know them well enough, their actions alone will tell you, at which point it’s best to just ask if time has been repeating for them. You can also tell if someone is a Looper if they use powers not found in your Loop, though that might be a little difficult in your Loop.”
“Understandable, almost every power in the Loops can just be called a Quirk and left alone,” Izuku confirmed.
Twilight nodded. “Most Loopers also use certain lingo to ask if someone is Awake without accidentally telling someone about the Loops. Normally it will involve asking if the person if feeling Loopy. And you can always set up meeting points with your native Loopers in order to find out who’s Looping right away.”
“Yeah, I guess Eri and I kinda do that already in the latter case.”
Twilight tilted her head. “Oh?”
Izuku winced. “It’s not exactly a very pleasant thing for either of us. See, Eri’s Quirk is the ability to reverse time on anything she’s close enough to. A crazy gang leader who things Quirks are diseases figured out how to use her blood to make bullets that eventually reached the point where they could destroy Quirks entirely. Unfortunately, he was abusive to her, and used his Quirk to physically rip her apart and put her back together after her drained her dry of her blood.”
Twilight also winced as Eri whimpered slightly from the memories.
“Once I had enough power,” Izuku continued, “I figured out I could storm the base they were keeping her in with ease. So I started using the beginning of my Loop to save her from her abuser, at which point she’s normally adopted by my mother. Even if she isn’t Awake, I still go to save her because it saves a defenseless child and prevents a major criminal ploy.”
Twilight nodded before looking to the still whimpering filly. She scooted over to the young Looper, place a hoof on her shoulder. When the girl looked up, Twilight smiled gently at her.
“I think a shield spell or two is in order,” Twilight told her. “Maybe a good blast would also help keep him off you.”
Eri smiled and hugged the older mare, crying out thank yous.
2.2
Awaking in a random room wasn’t something uncommon for Izuku anymore, having been randomly thrown into different worlds multiple times over the Loops, whether it was a Crossover or a Variant. It wasn’t too hard to deal with, just check Loop memories, send out a Ping (which he recently added), find any Loopers to explain what was happening, and continue life as normal, with the added bonus of solving any problems he came across with his stockpiled powers.
This Loop was a bit… interesting to say the least.
Izuku looked down at his hand, feeling a strange energy coursing through him. Something… mythical. Powerful. Ancient.
His memories supplied him with the basics.
“Okay, let’s see how this works,” Izuku muttered.
With a quick breath, he shouted, “Dragon Up!”
The energy inside exploded out, wrapping him in fire. He could feel his body painlessly shift, becoming something no longer human. When it ended, only a second or two passing, he looked at himself in the mirror.
No longer was a teenage boy standing there, but rather a dragon. He was larger in both height and muscles, with forest green scales and a mint colored underbelly. His hair had morphed into his head spines, trailing down to the end of his tail, while his ears had become pointed. A pair of large wings shot out his back, currently in a resting position. All things considered, he was actually rather human like, standing on two legs with clawed hands that functioned mostly the same to his normal ones.
“Hmm… I wonder how well this body can handle the One for All,” Izuku wondered as he flexed his dragon muscles.
“Izu-nii!”
The cry caught Izuku off guard, even more so when he was hug tackled by a flying, white projectile. When he looked down, he caught sight of a white scaled dragon with long white hair on its head. Said dragon was currently cuddling up against his mint underbelly, scaly arms wrapped around his torso. When the smaller dragon looked up, Izuku caught sight of red eyes.
Another check of his Loop memories confirmed his suspicion.
“Eri?” he asked. “Wait, this Loop, are you genetically my sister?”
The albino happily nodded before snuggling back up against him.
Izuku hummed in thought, carefully going through his Loop memories. “So, magic is a thing here, and we’re in America.” He got up, setting Eri down. “Well, let's see what we can do.”
He turned to the window, but paused when he saw the massive size difference. He stared for a moment, before turning back into a human.
“It’ll probably be better to change out on the street than break a window.”
Eri giggled, changing back herself before following her now-biological brother out the door.
Izuku looked over his plans, trying to figure out what the best option would be for getting Eri out of Overhaul’s grasp.
Well… actually it wasn’t so much what would be the best option and more like what would be an option he hadn’t already done. Who’s to say that more than one option isn’t the best, especially considering he had several powers that made him more than a match for anything Overhaul could throw at him.
Especially when what could be thrown was either his Quirk or the Quirk canceling bullets.
However, as he poured over his numerous plans, there came a knocking at the door of his home. Curious, especially since his mom had left to get groceries, he put his plans away in his Subspace Pocket and headed for the door. As soon as he opened the door, a white blur shot out from behind and started hugging him. Looking down, Izuku found Eri in her dragon form.
“Uh…. How did you get out?” he asked after some brief hesitation.
Eri giggled. “When the meanie tried to grab me I set him on fire and then flew away.”
“Huh,” Izuku breathed. “Well, I guess that takes care of freeing you. But we still need to find a way to report this to the police so Mom can properly adopt you.”
The girl pouted. “Can’t you just use you’re gauntlet thingy to change everyone’s memories and make it so I’ve always been here?”
He shook his head. “Sorry, but that doesn’t help deal with Overhaul. Besides, fabricating memories that will stay isn’t easy. If something doesn’t line up in their memories, the fake memories can fall apart. Not to mention we still have to get your legal paperwork.”
She nodded in understanding. “So… do we fake our own memories so we can pretend to tell the police what ‘actually’ happened?”
The greenette shrugged. “Works for me.”
2.3
“Awwww~ he’s so cute!”
A green tail flicked back and forth behind him, his eyes locked on to the group of girls before him. A few boys watched from their desks, some in amusement, some in envy, some in annoyance.
“Return to your seats,” Aizawa’s voice rang throughout the room, causing the girls to return to their seats, but not without a few pouts.
When the underground hero approached his desk, he gave Izuku a nice scratch behind the ears, causing him to purr with delight.
Maybe being the class cat for a Loop wouldn’t be so bad.
2.4
Izuku groaned. This Loop was not going to be one of his favorites.
At first, it seemed like it would just be a regular Baseline Loop, what with him being the same bullied, Quirkless kid. However, another factor soon appeared that made him wish all too much that he could just end the Loop.
Alpha-Beta-Omega dynamics.
It was almost as if humanity had de-evolved into part animals, as everyone had some sort of subgender, which greatly influenced their daily lives, especially if they were in heat. Alphas were dominant. Betas were average. Omegas were submissive and a very limited class.
And Izuku was an Omega.
What this meant for him was that he would be treated as if he were powerless, a being that only served to have children for the two dominant classes.
Oh, right. The whole mating thing.
That really made him want to end the Loop right then and there, consequences be damned. It did not help that everyone not directly related to him seemed to want a piece of him. He already had enough mental scarring from the Loop memories alone.
“Deku~ Where are you~”
The voice of his friend/bully attempting to be seductive almost made Izuku throw up in his mouth.
Going back to his recently picked up form, Izuku turned into a cat and bailed out a nearby window. Perhaps he could get his mother to adopt him and spend the rest of the Loop as a cat. It would be better than wherever this freaky business was going.
2.5
“Perfect,” Izuku whispered to himself.
Before him sat a red costume, specially made with several zippers and flaps, along with being lightly armored. A nice utility belt and a vizor specially outfitted with a heads up display sat to the side.
“Yaoyorozu is going to love this costume,” the Anchor whispered with glee at his finished product.
Picking up the costume to set it into the respective case for the next day, Izuku took in the room around him. The UA Support Workshop stood proudly… and empty. The boy checked his phone’s clock, his eyes widening when he found out that it was close to six.
“Aw man, Mom’s going to be so worried,” Izuku huffed.
He then looked down at the case in his hands and smiled. “But it will be all the more worth it if they are alright.”
This Loop had been a slightly different variant, with his Unawake self desiring to enter the field of hero support once he had discovered he was Quirkless. When he Awoke, he decided to continue on with such a plan, knowing it would be rather odd if he suddenly changed tune after roughly a decade of dedication.
That didn’t stop him from being a vigilante. After all, he frankly couldn’t sit around and do nothing anymore when he had dozens of powers and different kinds of training from his numerous Loops.
Along with this, he decided to work on his original class’ costumes, making sure they were better suited for combat. He has had some pretty bad Loops where his classmates would get injured due to poor costume design, ranging from simply tripping due to high heels to being stabbed because there was little to no armor covering them.
As Izuku put away the costume and cleaned up his workstation, he noticed he had overlooked one workstation that was still occupied.
One with a bush of pink dreadlocks peeking out from it.
Finishing up on his own station, the Anchor walked over to the station of Hatsume Mei. His eyes widened when he caught a full view of the station, where it was covered in several different blueprints, some looking close to completion while others only had basic sketches.
“Hatsume?” He said to the girl.
She whipped her head back to him, her face a cross between annoyed and exhausted. What was shocking to Izuku was the fact she wasn’t smiling, something that he had almost always seen on the girl’s face as she worked with an almost oblivious sense of wonder that bordered on insanity.
“Uh… whatcha doing?” Izuku asked as calmly as possible.
“Oh, nothing, uh… Deku,” Mei replied, frantically turning her head back to her work.
Izuku frowned. Bakugou hadn’t interacted with him since they both started at UA, likely not wanting to keep any connections he had to the Quirkless teen, or at least not wanting them to be known amongst his new classmates. There was no way that Mei would be able to know that nickname. Unless…
He leaned over, looking at the blueprints that she was currently drawing up. Slowly, Izuku began to recognize inventions she had made in Baseline, most notably the gear she used in the Sport’s Festival.
It clicked in his head.
“Hatsume, had time been repeating for you?”
The look the girl gave him was a cross between shock and relief.
“So time resets after every few months?” Mei asked as Izuku finished his Loop speech.
Izuku sighed. “Yeah, when the Culture Festival ends the Loop ends.”
Mei slumped over in defeat.
“Uh, you okay?” Izuku questioned, visibly concerned.
“No!” Mei cried. “This is terrible!”
Izuku looked at her in fear, worried she was developing Setsuna Syndrome.
“I have to leave all my babies behind!”
Izuku relaxed, he even started chuckling in relief.
“Hey, you wanna see something cool?” He rhetorically asked.
Mei looked up as Izuku held out his hand. In the next second, his homemade Infinity Gauntlet was in his grasp. Then it shifted into some Kunai he picked up in the Naruto Loop. Then into a magic concepts book that he got from Twilight.
“It’s called the Subspace Pocket,” Izuku explained as the book vanished from his grasp. “Once you figure out how to make it, you can store anything that will fit inside of it, and they’ll stay with you, even after the Loop ends. And the space grows over time, to the point where some people can keep whole solar systems in their Pockets.”
For once, Izuku was relieved by seeing Mei’s insane smile.
2.6
“We can’t cancel the USJ with such flimsy evidence. As much as I care for the safety of our students, it will make us seem weak and that the villains can influence us easily. Moreover, were we to change the schedule, the villains could just as easily change their own plans, especially if there is a spanner in our works.”
“But what are we going to do if the villains do show up and attack the students?”
“Quite simple, Eraserhead. We will merely have several Pro-hero staff stealthily waiting near the building. I’ll also get All Might to fake wasting his time, then show up when the villains do arrive, so he will have plenty of time to deal with the villains. With any luck, any major plans they have will be derailed and we can make several arrests in the meantime. I also want you to be on the lookout for anyone with a warp Quirk. That will likely be their biggest means of escape if they are capable of making it through our security. Though keep in mind that the safety of the students is your top priority.”
“Alright, Principle Midoriya.”
As the Underground Hero left his office, Izuku had to lean back in his chair. This Loop had decided to switch him and Nezu around, in more ways than one. Right now, he was a similar hybrid creature to what Nezu had been, only his fur was minty green and the mouse aspect Nezu had seemed to be replaced by a rabbit instead, giving him a cotton ball tail and long ears. Interestingly, he also seemed to possess Nezu’s Quirk, though he knew some basic mental exercises to keep the extensive intelligence from interfering with his daily life. And some for the mental scarring his memories of being stuck in a lab provided.
At least Eri seemed to enjoy his cuddly form. And his intelligence made it easy to figure out how to get around that detective’s lie detector Quirk.
The intercom on his desk beeped. “Hey, Principle! I’ve added the finishing touches on your robot! You wanna come check in out?”
Izuku smiled at the sound of Mei’s voice.
“On my way,” he spoke into the device.
Meanwhile, an almost sadistic student who somehow managed to get into All Might’s good graces was completely trashing Bakugou for the many years of abuse he suffered at the explosive boy’s hands. All who heard his insane laughter shuttered.
2.7
Quirks. It was almost always the Quirk that changed, if anything was going to change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.
(Quirk: Deck. Summary: Allows the user to trap anything within a playing card form, even fire or electricity. However, there can only be 52 cards at any time and the item being sealed must be within three feet of the user.)
The Vanguard Action Squad was getting into position, ready to start their attack on the training camp. Their major objectives were that of Bakugou Katsuki and Tokoyami Fumikage, though their leader had told them students like Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, or Midoriya were also acceptable catches.
The first two seemed reasonable enough. Even if there was no way they would become villains, the ransom they could get for the two would be staggering, and their Quirks would be perfect for Sensei. The latter case, however, confused most of them.
What was so special about Midoriya? Didn’t he just have a strength Quirk?
The group put off the thought as they got into position. Mustard started to release his gas as Dabi prepared to burn part of the forest down.
Suddenly, a kunai knife flew out of the gas, almost hitting Mustard, who shut off his Quirk in shock. A figure appeared out of the gas, wearing a gas mask and hood. The figure made a motion with their hand, and the gas suddenly vanished in a flash as a card appeared in their hand.
“Huh,” the figure breathed. “I guess it does count as one object. Good to know.”
The villains looked at him in shock before that shock turned to anger.
“Who are you supposed to be?” Dabi growled, his Quirk activating.
The figure looked up to stare for a moment, before his shoulders shook. It took a moment for the Action Squad to realise the figure was softly laughing.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” the figure teasingly asked. “Well, I’ll tell you…”
He suddenly was right in front of Dabi. “... when you’re behind bars.”
There was another flash as Dabi disappeared. Another card appeared in the figure’s hand.
The figure whistled as he locked over the new card. “Man, you have a pretty cool design. Love the blue fire effect.”
“Hey! Give back Dabi!” Himiko shouted as she charged the man, knife in hand.
The man simply dodged anything she threw at him. By this point, the other members had realised the man wasn’t messing around, and closed in to attack as well.
Underneath his mask, the man smirked. He threw two cards at the slashing girl, one on top of the other. The first one released smoke, blinding the group. The second unleashed Mustard’s gas.
Mustard, faintly hearing his teammates collapsing, reached for his gun. Yet he didn’t have time, as there was another flash, and his mask was suddenly gone, exposing him to his own gas and knocking him out.
As the gas and smoke faded, the figure looked at the card in his hand, the figure of Dabi emblazoned upon it, surrounded by flames of blue. However, underneath the picture a small name plate said Touya.
The figure took his mask off, revealing the freckled face of Izuku. “I wonder if I can get him to make a case against Endeavor.”
(Quirk: Giant. Summary: Makes the user naturally twice the size of a normal human their age, and they can go up to five times taller, with a basic control of how big they get.)
Izuku blushed as he opened the door to Class 1-A, now thankful they made it as big as they did. The current students within the room turned to gawk at the towering teen, causing his blush to deepen under -or over, given his height- their gazes.
Kaminari started laughing. “I guess we know whose desk that is now!”
Izuku looked to find a much larger desk sitting in the very back. He knew that his current size meant he needed special additions (his uniform for one thing) but it still was embarrassing to be called out in such a way.
(Quirk: Mirror. Summary: Anything seen as a threat to the user will be automatically bounced back to the attacker.)
“This is certainly one of the better Quirks I’ve copied.”
Izuku looked up from his notebook to smile at a certain Class 1-B student. “I know. I really enjoy not having to worry about if an attack will hit me or not. Of course, it is a problem whenever there’s friendly fire, but I’ve been working on redirecting it. Speaking of which, do you need a top off?”
Monoma looked down at his watch. “In another minute. It was a good idea have intervals on this watch.”
He then looked up, smirking. Several students were trying to attack the two, only for their Quirk (or borrowed Quirk, in Monoma’s case) to redirect everything from energy based attacks to simple punches.
Both boys had to admit it was hilarious watching Bakugou try and punch the two, only for his fist to spontaneously turn around and hit him square in the jaw.
“So how do my notes on your classmates look?” Izuku asked.
Monoma turned back to the book in his hands. “Pretty good. Though I have a theory on why only Kendo’s hands turn and how she can still carry them.”
Izuku perked up at that. “Do tell.”
The two continued talking as their classmates tried to wage war on them, only to have their attacks almost hit them (or actually hitting them, for the unlucky ones who weren’t able to dodge fast enough).
Meanwhile, Vlad King and Eraserhead sat off to the side, watching as their students attempted to take down two currently invincible threats.
(Quirk: Glow. Summary: Makes the user’s body glow in various colors. Colors can be controlled, but emotions can also change them.)
“Come my Shining Soul Brother!” Aoyama announced as he grabbed Izuku’s hand, pulling him along.
Izuku blushed, which was reflected by his entire body glowing pink. A few people were giggling, some taking pictures or videos as the Frenchman dragged the Anchor behind him.
Izuku could only hope he would find some use out of this Quirk. Or that he would get enough control that his emotions wouldn’t be broadcasted as colors.
