Sam hadn't done any of those checks. He'd thrown himself and his belief into Dean right from the get go. Hadn't questioned anything, let alone Dean's authenticity. Dean had noticed this earlier but hadn't voiced the uneasy observation. Sam's unflinching conviction in the face of Bobby's caution made Dean somewhat queasy. It was like Sam had already known he had no reason to doubt Dean was Dean. Like he was privy to a confidence and explanation that they were not. Dean had an inkling to as what this meant, and he didn't like it - not one bit.
