Steve got to his locker and opened it, surprised when there was a black, heart-shaped box sitting on top of his books. How the hell? He looked around and there were only the tiny vents on the front of his locker. There was no way that box could fit through it. Someone had to open his locker in order to put that there. Yeah, that’s not creepy at all. He opened the cardboard box; it was filled with chocolates. On the lid underside, there was a short note:

Eddie plastered on a fake smile with dead eyes as he put the cheap jewelry over the heads of everyone that passed him. After a few minutes, he started trying to have fun with it and said various bad puns in his best attempt at an Irish accent. A familiar voice caught his attention, and he went pale as a ghost. No… He glanced up to see Steve Harrington paying the entry fee. Quickly, he fumbled for his beard and put it on by the time Steve arrived in front of him. His attempt at saying ‘Let’s shamrock and roll’ as he put a gold necklace over his head came out closer to “Le shmark a rall.” It sounded so far from English that he just hoped Steve thought he was speaking Gaelic or something. He tried not to visibly cringe when Steve raised an eyebrow at him.
“You… too?” Steve looked very confused before heading into the fairgrounds.

Eddie skipped up to Steve’s side. “Might I ask why you’re buying Easter supplies?” Eddie asked as he picked up a bag of empty plastic eggs from the basket over Steve’s arm.
With a groan, Steve threw another bag of candy into the basket. “You know those kids I mentioned before, the ones I babysit?”
“Yeah.” Eddie tilted his head as he let the bag of eggs slide out of his hand and back into the basket.
“Well, the youngest has roped me into hosting a fucking Easter party at my house, even though their own house would be perfectly suitable. Something about me having a better backyard for an egg hunt or some shit, and apparently her parents didn’t want to host one.” Steve sighed and rubbed his temples. “I don’t know how I always end up watching the little shits, but it never fucking fails.” He picked up a set of dye tablets and tossed them in the basket as well.
“Good luck with that, man,” Eddie laughed.
“Yeah, thanks,” Steve said sarcastically.
“I’m not going to offer my help, but I will offer my condolences in the form of intoxication if you need it after.”

He swung open the large red doors and was shocked to see Eddie standing there with a bouquet of white and dark blue flowers. “Uh, Eddie?”
Eddie nearly dropped the bouquet when he saw Steve answer the door in his boxers. “Jesus, man,” he exclaimed, collecting himself. “Do you have no shame?”
Steve looked down at himself, confused why Eddie would be embarrassed by seeing him in his underwear. He shook his head and got a better look at Eddie. It was the first time he’d seen Eddie in intact clothing. His pants were dark navy and fairly nice. He was wearing a red and black plaid long-sleeve button-up that was actually buttoned up, with a black hoodie tied around his waist. Steve knew that, for Eddie, this was dressing up and he found his attempt rather adorable. But for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out why Eddie was at his house looking like that.
When Steve didn’t respond, Eddie nervously fiddled with the bottom of the plastic wrapping of the bouquet. “So…” he started awkwardly.

Eddie rested his head on the brick wall behind The Hideout, smoking. It was his ritual after a show to go out to the back alley alone and let himself enjoy the lingering stage high. It was one of his favorite feelings, but it was fleeting, especially without a group of adoring fans to, well, fan his ego. He took a long drag and shot a thin column of smoke into the night sky. The radiant light from the nearby streetlamp made it glow.
“You’re better than I thought.”
Eddie choked on the remaining smoke when he heard Steve’s voice. “The fuck are you doing here?” He coughed the last of the smoke from his lungs. His stage high was officially gone.
“Oh, sorry, am I not allowed to go to a free show in the town I live in?” he snarked as he walked up.
Eddie chuckled and stood to his full height. “But seriously, why are you here?”

"What the hell is going on, Steve?" Eddie pressed as soon as they were in his room.
"Will you accept it if I say that I can't tell you?" Steve cringed.
"No!" Eddie snapped. "Why the hell would I accept that?"
Steve sighed and fell back onto Eddie's bed. The familiar comfort of it relaxed his nerves a little.
"Can you at least tell me why you can't tell me?" Eddie asked, kneeling on the bed over Steve's lap.
Steve smiled up at the straddle and rubbed the outside of Eddie's thighs. "I literally have an NDA that says I can't."
Eddie's face fell in disbelief. "What the fuck are you involved in?" he huffed, his tone heavy with worry. "Are you in danger?" he followed quickly. "What about Sinclair and Henderson? Are they in danger?"
"Woah, woah," Steve sat up and placed a hand on Eddie's waist when he saw a panic rising in him. "No one's in danger," he reassured, knowing that wasn't entirely true.
