Summary
Ever since the Ruusan Reformation a thousand years ago, the Jedi have been indentured to the Galactic Republic. The core terms are simple: when a Senator makes a Request, the Jedi must fulfill it.
Chancellor Palpatine isn't the first Senator to Request Obi-Wan. He is, however, the only one to offer him something he can't refuse—protection and freedom for his Padawan. The only price is Obi-Wan's own freedom, a price he will gladly pay to keep Anakin safe.
A price that may just cost them the galaxy.
