In this world, Idril takes pity on Maeglin and makes him hers, intending only to prevent a terrible foreseen future from coming to pass, while she waits for the prophesied partner she's been engaged to since leaving for Gondolin. It quickly becomes more than that.
Now, if only humans didn't have such odd sensibilities about this practice!

It doesn’t ground him, but it does draw the attention of the man that has just crash landed in his laboratory.
Eyes that feel like beetles on Branzy’s skin give him a long once over. He doesn’t know how he can tell, since the jester is wearing the full getup, a sharp-tipped circus mask to boot. Those eyes, though. Branzy doesn’t need to see where they land to feel them.
