adverb, Latin: in the place of a father
How Ereinion Gil-Galad becomes the son of none of the usual suspects, but of still far too many fathers for any reasonable member of the Eldar to possess in one lifetime. Setting out to prove the plural in Scion of Kings.

Summary
This is a little story universe that grew out of my childhood misconception, upon my first attempt to read The Lord of the Rings, that Glorfindel was, in fact, a girl. (Look, I’m not saying I was a smart child.) I explain a little more in this Tumblr post, but all you need to know is that Glorfindel is and always has been female, and otherwise her biography is exactly the same.
Chapters 2, 7, and 8 were previously published as part of my Tolkien Drabble Collection (2025, part 2).

Ereinion scrubs harshly at his face, blinking rapidly. “Then I must confess I’m at a loss as to what might bring you here so late, Lady Idril.”
“There is some news I must deliver,” she says. “And one matter that must be settled before it becomes a point of contention."

Summary
Elenwe? Dream Turgon gasped. She was not fading away. Her spirit remained in his arms, warm, white and glowing.
The sound of early morning birdsong filled the air. Turgon became aware of the pillow underneath his head, and the blankets covering him. And there was the familiar figure of his wife, lying next to him; a disapproving look on her face.
“Turgon!” Elenwe said, her voice distant and echoing, but unmistakably there. “The first thing we are doing after breakfast, is going out mattress shopping!”Turgon awakens one morning to find the spirit of Elenwe has returned to him. How delightful!
But other relatives have turned up in spirit form too. Turgon realises that he must find new bodies for them. All the while keeping them hidden from Mandos and keeping them out of trouble. But he is Turgon, King of Gondolin, so he can handle that, right?

Summary
Years have passed since their marriage, and Maedhros and Findelwen couldn't be happier. Their families are still the most chaotic royal bunch in the face of Arda, but it's nothing they can't handle. But peace never lasts forever: The Festival of the Trees is appoaching, the moment of the year were Laurelin and Telperion's lights shine brighter. It should be a moment of celebration, but instead it will be a moment of darkness like no one has ever seen.
WARNING: This fic is much darker than the last, due to the themes of tragedy, captivity and torture. You better have some tissues with you, because this will be a very emotional read. Seriously, I cried while writting this. Have a good read!

Summary
A bright day dawned over fair white Gondolin to the shrill dismayed screams of Glorfindel of the House of the Golden Flower. For he had awoken that morn to a most horrific sight in the mirror: his long and luscious Laurelin kissed locks were cruelly shorn off his now bald head while he had been sleeping.
In a great fury Glorfindel ran through the halls of the King's palace, and laying eyes upon his dark target skulking in the darkened corners, he accosted the elf in sight of the royal family.
"What have you done to my hair, villain?! My beautiful golden blonde hair!"
------Maeglin has to create a compensation for Glorfindel's lost hair (which he totally didn't cut off himself) and is charged with making him a full head of hair made of pure gold. However, Sauron takes note of an elf leaving Gondolin to visit some dwarven smiths, and disguising himself challenges Maeglin to a wager of who is the better craftsman. Who shall come out victorious in this battle of magic and skill?

Summary
Možná to bude začátek nového nádherného přátelství. Nebo i něčeho víc.

Summary
On a winter evening in the dim light of her father's library, Princess Idril speaks for the first time with Tuor, son of Huor — and suddenly she sees not the noble messenger of the Lord of Waters, but an insecure young man who has seen much evil in his short life and yet has not lost hope. Perhaps this will be the beginning of a wonderful new friendship. Or something more.

Summary
“Idril, would you accompany Ecthelion?” he asked. “And Maeglin...” Glorfindel bowed dramatically and held out his hand. “Would you give me this dance?”
“Go on silly,” Idril said, nudging her red faced cousin. She sat down on the grass, next to Glorfindel’s harp. Ecthelion grinned and readied his flute. And Maeglin took a deep breath, and stepped forwards.

Summary
"If I could, I would reach past this land and towards the sea, searching for some old version of my Fingon, who exists outside the bloody tale of the Noldor in Beleriand, who can be mourned in isolation from all our other ghosts and all whom we helped make into ghosts. But my brother Fingon no longer exists in isolation. Dirges in war must be orchestral or silent: there is no in-between. Death was his reward, but not his alone."

Summary
Laurefindelë is dressing up one of Itarillë’s porcelain dolls, holding its hair out of the way as he closes the buttons. Next to him, Ilcalanis has buried herself in blankets as she reads. He could watch her for hours like this, the casual beauty of her, candlelight entwined in her hair turning it to molten gold pouring down her chest. He etches the sight into his mind.
Amrod makes a very difficult decision.
