Summary
In late 1969, Joseph "Big Joey" Leonetti is found slumped over his breakfast in Oklahoma City, with a bullet to the chest and one in the head. This is bad news for both Oklahoma City and New York City — he was a mob guy with real connections.
Connections that extend all the way to Dallas Winston, who is about to unexpectedly come into contact with his family once more.
All the while, the 1969 Draft Lottery is called, altering everyone's lives with it.

Summary
Eventually, Cherry finally looked at the crowd with a half grimace, taking the mic. The yelling, the questions had become too much. There had been nothing from their manager, and her face seemed half frozen in a grimace as she spoke, "It looks like Dallas won't be joining us tonight!" There were confused sounds, some scatter clapping and her expression seemed to harden. "The show will go on!"
None of us, including her, knew that Dallas had quit the band.
Dallas quits the band for something sunnier: Ponyboy Curtis.
