Summary
Ahab dressed 1x with trembling care, ignoring his thrashing as she slid the doll-sized clothes onto him— old garments once worn by her long-lost crewmate, Ishtime. Everything fit too perfectly. She cradled him like a relic, eyes wide with reverence.
“Perfect… Perfect! You look… PERFECT LIKE THIS!” Her claws ran through his hair and over every little crease in his new clothes. “You look like the most… perfect crewmate…”
Lanterns were lit. A photo was taken— one more memento to join her shrine of past sacrifices. She pinned it up with shaking hands, beaming as she showed him the image.
Proof that he belonged to her.
