Summary
Tintin couldn't just have peace of mind alongside his friends in their new residence, could he? He couldn't relax, he couldn't do his usual routines without someone with a vengeance coming back into his life, could he? He knew he'd probably spend the rest of his life paranoid and checking everything and picking up on every little sound and shadow that may be someone after him, even if he gave up his journalistic job and adventuring tomorrow.
And, unbeknownst to the new friends settling into their residence that Haddock was finally able to have in his and his family's name, the relief and peace was about to be disturbed by a plan months in the making by Sakharine, who had quickly managed to slip out of prison, managing to drag his rival's ex crewmates back in with not only money upfront, but an exploitation of their fresh revenge in light of defeating them at the Belgian docks by the captain they loathed and the bratty young reporter he befriended. One cold December night, a year to the day of acquiring Marlinspike Hall, his most desired target would be subjected to such torturous and vengeful whims of his, he would finally make the both of them pay for daring to destroy his entire life's work and legacy.

Summary
This fic will be rife with hurt/comfort, 'cause look, Tintin needs to acknowledge he's not an invincible human being and not even an adult frankly for that matter. He's been through enough. Just because he's survived so many worst case scenarios doesn't mean he can keep doing this to himself. Though he's often had to rely on himself and Snowy to survive and managed, he really needs help. And a fainting spell and hitting his head on a bed post on the way down may end up being the cause of his admittance of that.

Summary
Tintin finds himself unable to deal with his life, which isn't like him, even with the trauma he's suffered as a journalist and an adventurer. And that something's come right back up, now at 30 years old, that he's had to force shut so many times, but a particular self-inflicted incident forces it to break the surface for him to deal with it. A particular experience that feels somehow more harrowing and disturbing than anything else in his life, that it's been so predominantly blacked out in his mind and practically secret even to him. He has his own horrifying suspicions, but even if he knew the full truth of what happened, would those close to him believe him at all?
He may not want to face it, but in the end, something will make him regardless. He just hopes that when he has to, he hopes the captain will be waiting for him on the other side when he finally finds out the truth all these years later.

Summary
A few days after another case, Tintin tries to put his usual effort into getting back to normal and writing up his article for it. He's always one to push through his thoughts and feelings and get things done, however awful he feels, because he's so used to looking after himself whilst completing very dangerous cases and adventures, and he's not about to start now.
But as something that Tintin initially thinks is just a bad cold and is something he is able to treat without so much worry, it turns out that as soon as he gets back, it just gets far worse and far more difficult to simply just ignore. And that's with the fact that with the strong bond he has developed in his life with the captain, something he's really never had before, means that the latter forces him to confront it head on, and to be able to not only accept the love and care he truly deserves, but to be able to love and take care of himself when he really, really needs to.

Unfortunately, it seems, with his history, job and lifestyle, something was going to come up and bite him back and snatch away yet another form of peace he'd tried to hold onto.
It really does make him wonder how appropriate this all comes back to him, in a church of all places, it seems.

Tintin gets caught off guard, unfortunately as usual, and so does his friends, who are just trying to sleep, eat and just generally wind down late night, by some truly unforgiving robbers. Despite his best efforts in fighting back, he gets injured before being ambushed, leaving him and his friends' fates truly in the hands of such perpetrators, with any wonder as to how they'll get out of it this time.

Summary
Years later, Tintin had blocked out that particular part of his life, as he always tried to do. He moved on, getting on with other work, worrying enough about criminals from his past trying to get into his life to hurt him and his friends as revenge for what he did to them. He treasured the calmer, smoother moments in his life because he knew how quick they would be snatched away from him. And meeting someone who he could be intimate with in many ways opened up a chance as another release from the pressure; it should've been so simple. It should've been so safe. He should've been so safe.
But in the end, like with all things about him, it could never be that way for long, could it?

Summary
Tintin just wants a break from everything. His own mind is bringing back all the feelings he doesn't want, and when he's tried to just sit down in his room late at night, having lit a few candles to focus on and bask in their calm light and warmth, he's rudely interrupted by an unfortunately familiar person who him and Haddock thought they had finally gotten rid of just a couple of years ago. It turns out he's been waiting a very long time for this, with feelings from the very beginning, and had already been stalking outside his apartment for a while now, before deciding to take complete advantage of a very clear opportunity, and Tintin begins to wonder how real his feelings are for Sakharine, or if it's just pure sweet manipulation by the man in front of him.

Tintin didn't want it to be like this. Even if he'd spent a lifetime like this, this shouldn't be how it ended. He just wanted to figure out what was going on in another abandoned building, but it seemed he'd underestimated his strength from what he saw down there and couldn't escape. He should've expected something like this. And now he was relying on his friends to save him from his own usual instincts and mistakes.
He couldn't feel more ashamed of himself if he even tried.
