Stiles is dancing.
He's nearly knee-deep in the freeze of it all, a paper bag of roasted peanuts and jellybeans swaying precariously in his hand, lines from the play and laughter spilling from his sugar-salted lips, dancing.
Derek's lungs, twinkling from the sharp, crisp air, forget altogether how breathing's supposed to get done. His heart seems to decide to pick up the slack, and the butterflies in his belly are honestly so juvenile he's a little surprised at himself.
Stiles twirls with the wind and the snowflakes and the height of his damnable ridiculousness, sunshine eyes bursting supernovas when he smiles, all that bright in him just pouring recklessly out. Like it's infinite, endless, like he doesn't have to worry about reaching the bottom and coming up empty. And the fresh snow soaks up all that lovely, reflects it back until even the stars can only stare on in jealousy.
Derek wants to tell him he's being an idiot, wants to tell him he's going to catch a fucking cold, wants to wrap his loose scarf more warmly around his bare, cinnamon-speckled sweet-cream throat.
But he's still trying to remember how to breathe.

“I just don’t understand,” she whined, her head on Kenny’s shoulder. “How can they be this stupid?”
“They’re freshmen,” Lucas said. “They’re supposed to be this stupid. At least your band kids didn’t challenge McCall into sprinting after them in broad daylight.”
Kenny stifled a laugh at Sarah’s pout.
“I can’t believe I wasn’t there to see that.”

Then he and Danny meet Aria, a Fairy that almost hit Stiles with her car. The three form a bond during the last couple months of school that lead into summer and when Isaac Jackson and four unlikely friends come back for junior year, it's a hell of a ride.
The nine of them begin to venture into uncharted waters in the form of pseudo pack dynamics and possible feelings for each other. It's a fire, a hungry and raging fire they're all too willing to feed.
None of them ever guessed that the nine of them could form their very own pack but one thing for sure is that the Hale-McCall pack is gonna regret getting on their bad side.

Derek listened to the steady, soft heartbeat of his mate. With a glance at the clock, he just harrumphed and pulled the younger man closer against his chest, running his hands over the boy’s naked chest, letting his fingers graze over his collection of scars. It was this attention that woke the spark from a restful sleep. He smiled up at his alpha and mate and turned around in his embrace, so they were face to face.
“You have morning breath,” Derek smirked.
“And you don’t?” Stiles shot back quickly. Derek just shrugged and pecked Stiles cheek. Stiles blushed, surprised he could still feel this giddy even after years of being with his mate.

His fox helmet would protect him well enough from headshots, but there were still chinks in even his mountain ash-infused armor. Scott had been trapped in a mountain ash circle, but the spark behind him easily moved the ash into the pack on his back with a flick of his wrist. Nothing wrong with replenishing his supply.
The hunter smirked at the beta who’s eyes were shining golden, “The pack who killed a nogitsune in it’s infancy. An impressive feat. I fail to see anything worth note, however.”

Stiles and his pack of Betas leave Beacon Hills to attend college and as they expand the pack along the way, they also gain some extraordinary allies in the process and it's then this pack of misfits realize you can find a home in the most unlikliest of people and places.
