He knew what he wanted to say, but no matter how he phrased it, it would sound either odd, self-deprecating, or arrogant. In the end, he could only awkwardly put together, “… To go so slow?”
The unintentional double meaning of those words even caused Zhongli to let out an amused chuckle, but fortunately for Baizhu, he didn’t tease and instead continued wordlessly, kissing the other repeatedly on his face; the forehead, eyelids, nose, then finally his lips. In the end, he gave a serious nod. “It is,”
It absolutely was. To him it was blasphemous to cut corners when showing his adoration for the doctor. As ironic as it was given what he once was, Baizhu was akin to a temple, and he was but a mere worshipper. Devoutness has no shortcuts.
