“Len and I knew your dad when he was just a little guy. We were all hangin’ out here at H.Q., and, boom, baby Basilisk in the Generals’ lounge! Man, I was so scared, I didn’t know what to do! Len tried to seal him back up before his dad saw, thought we had done a bad job babysittin’ and let it happen by mistake! Turns out, it was just his time to come out. Y’know, all demons pop their seals once when they’re super little, sorta like popping a cork on a bottle so you can get to the rest of the good stuff inside,”

Summary
The Empire was all Lyrian had ever known. From a simple war mage trainee to Fatebinder, she never looked back on her choices, assured of her life as a loyal servant of the Empire and the Overlord. The war of conquest for the Tiers changed that. The fires of war forged Lyrian into something else beyond a mere tool. War was an ugly, dirty thing, but Lyrian felt right at home in the grime of battle, the spilling of blood. She never aspired to more, yet the world simply laughed.
And yet, in the chaos of war, there was a constant that she gravitated around without truly realizing it. Or rather, someone.
The Fatebinder of Balance.

(Post Game Spoilers)
(Title and Description subject to change)Time marches on, and the former fatebinder Cephrae suffers under the weight of her grief and shame, and yearns to right her wrongs somehow. She commits to defending the tiers, and restoring them to some semblance of dignity.
But that still leaves the inevitability of Kyros, and the key to defeating Kyros is understanding her, and playing her game.
The new Archon finds herself with an advantage over the Overlord; the ability to pass an edict that, when used, saps her own life force away. When your enemy is seemingly immortal, every moment counts.
When tyrants are finally laid to waste, when Terratus heroic histories are written and completed, all will ask; who were the Gods? Who were the Devils?

A foolproof recipe to turn a Fatebinder into an Archon: start with a hint of wild talent, add two squabbling Archons, a hint of desperation, and an immeasurable quantity of something to lose, and let steam until well past done with all of this bullshit.

"Master, if you’ll join me upstairs, I will pledge fealty to you in the lawful manner."
"I thought you'd never ask."
(That line was so suggestive that I legitimately thought you get to bone Tunon. But of course I have to do everything myself. This is completely self indulgent and full of my own personal headcanons about Tunon. Be warned, my Fatebinder is a jerk with a god complex.)
