Summary
Tim doesn't look up to see who has come in, too far gone to even try to pull himself together for whoever has had the misfortune to stumble in on his grief. He hopes they'll just go away and tactfully never speak of it again; barring that, he hopes they at least don't ask if he's all right, when he is clearly as not all right as it's possible to be in a workplace washroom.
The person in the doorway doesn't leave, and they don't ask any inane questions. Instead, after a brief, painful pause, Jonathan Sims says,
"The tile in here is truly atrocious."
Research-era Jon stumbles in on Tim having a breakdown in the bathroom. He tries to help.

Summary
Christ, this was going to be a long trip. Martin stared at the bed and breakfast they’d finally arrived at, just as the stars were beginning to wink into view. His bag felt insurmountably heavy in his hands, like it was filled with the weight of every single lie he was desperately hiding behind and that he would have to maintain for—god, weeks.
He was fucked. He was so, so fucked.
.
Jon, Sasha, Tim, and Martin are sent to investigate a series of disappearances on a small island off the coast of Scotland. As Jon resolves to ignore his crush on Martin and tries to figure out what the voices that whisper in his ear are trying to tell him, Martin struggles to keep up appearances and tries to ignore the fog that clings to him tightly. As they continue to unravel the secrets the island holds, they grow closer, and they begin to realize that things are not always as they seem.

Tim aches. It’s full-body, radiating through his arms and back and legs, and he wishes more than anything that he could go to sleep, to chase away the pain for at least a little while. It feels like he’s been hit by a bus.
Or been on the receiving end of several kilos of C4 igniting all at once. But that metaphor’s a bit too on-the-nose, in his opinion.
.
After the Unknowing, Tim wakes up in the hospital. Jon does not. Tim’s not sure how he feels about that.

Summary
On his eighteenth birthday, Nicholas Cox received an eviction notice from his mother. On his twentieth, he unknowingly inherited a multi-billion dollar company and a fiancé.
When he was five, Seiji Katayama was told he would marry a boy who would grow to be a very important man. When he was twenty, he was told he would wed a different man who, by all rights, should not be important at all.
Both men were promised to lives entirely different from the one they now find themselves forging together.

Summary
On the day of his wedding, Jesse Coste finds himself sitting in the audience instead of sweeping down the aisle. Everything he was promised as a child stolen from him, just like that. His supposed-to-be-perfect life suddenly feels broken, and Jesse’s desperate to regain control of it, but grasping at the pieces only succeeds in breaking them more.
Eugene Labao is in the business of fixing people. When he sees a hurt, he’s inclined to ease it with a joke or a listening ear or advice and action. Jesse isn’t a patient, nor is he a friend. But he’s hurt and he’s gorgeous and he needs something to hold onto.
The trouble with finding someone to hold onto—or holding someone in return—is that it’s only a matter of time before you don’t want to let go.

“It’s a preexisting condition,” Jon explains, sipping more bitter tea. “I sort of got—hm. You know Spiderman?”
Tim raises an eyebrow.
“Heard of him, yeah.”
Jon nods, studying his tea.
“It’s sort of like that,” he says. “A spider killed and ate me when I was a child, and now I can’t stay dead.”

Summary
He peers between the branches at the spiderweb, gently pushing some away to get a better view. He wonders what kind of spider it is, if he can catch a glimpse of it. There aren’t that many types in England, but--
Oh. He doesn’t spot the spider, but there’s something else trapped in the middle of the web. A large moth, its wings splayed helpless and immobile. As he watches, he sees its legs wriggle ineffectually in the air. It’s a surprisingly pitiful sight, making Martin’s heart unexpectedly wrench a bit for the poor thing.
-
Martin saves a moth from a spider. He doubts that this decision will have any sort of serious repurcussions.

Grian blinks. “Oh, you are plastered.”

Tim and Sasha take the job because it's a simple one: escort shy, nervous, wide-eyed newbie cleric Martin Blackwood to the holiest city in the world. They also take it because the chance to skip town and dodge the trouble they've gotten into is too good to pass up.
But there's more to a journey across continents than just keeping watch for bandits, especially after they pick up a cagey warlock tied to an all-seeing fear god. Mysterious encounters pile up. Danger mounts.
Sometimes, in spite of your best efforts, trouble finds you.

Summary
“Should we get married?” Jon asks as Martin strides through the living room. He’s been sitting on the couch for most of the afternoon with his nose buried in his laptop, filling the house with furious tapping as Martin busies himself with repairing the kitchen sink. Or rather, trying to repair the kitchen sink. It’s not that complicated, he tells himself after his fifth (or sixth, or seventh) youtube video — just twist this and loosen...that, and maybe...hammer this...? The point is, he’s been doing a lot of trial and error. And yes, water is still coming out of one of the knobs, but at least it seems like less water than before...?
The point is, when Jon says this apropos of absolutely nothing, Martin nearly spills the sports drink he’s chugging all down the front of his shirt, and while that definitely would complete the whole “unintentionally slutty plumber” look he’s got going on, he doesn’t want to have to do another load of laundry today.
“I’m sorry,” Martin says once he’s stopped coughing like a consumptive patient, “what?”Martin can't say that either of them have given much thought to tying the knot.
