Trea had known Bryce for a long time now. They had gotten along since the day they met and had grown into close friends over the years as teammates. It was no wonder, then, that Trea was the first person in the majors that Bryce made privy to his shapeshifting. That bomb had been dropped back in their Nationals days.
In every lunar cycle, starting at the sunset of a full moon, Bryce’s human body morphed into that of a dragon, returning to human form at dawn. And for the next two days he could change from one to the other at will. As a caring friend, Trea had always allowed Bryce to stay with him for those three dragon days and nights. As much as Trea complained about the dragon, he had still agreed to reinstating their arrangement when he and Bryce had been reunited as teammates on the Phillies.
