Summary
In a universe where things went very differently at the Burial Mounds, Wei Wuxian and most of the Wen Remnants survived. Meanwhile, Jin Guangshan and Jin Guangyao were exposed building a secret force of demonic cultivators, with violent results.
‘The Rite at Qiongqi Path’ refers to Jin Guangyao’s desperate, failed, fatal attempt at ascending to ultimate power via demonic cultivation. In this 'verse, that turning point effectively takes the place of several canon confrontations.
A year later, Lan Xichen, Lan Wangji, and Wei Wuxian face some of the long-term consequences.
