This is a Reign fanfiction, in which I write my original character into the story and change several story events and plots from the show. The fic begins before the events of Reign, with the story really picking up around late summer/early fall 1554, three years prior to Mary’s arrival. Lady Inès returns to court with the singular purpose of revenge against the man that murdered her family, her uncle Laurent. She is both aided and derailed by old friends as she navigates life at court using her empathic abilities. A chance encounter with the court seer, Nostradamus, changes everything. Now she finds herself caught in the middle of the most powerful men in the kingdom. The main character (oc), Inès Chevalier, is only thirteen when the story starts progressing. However, in 1554 that would have made her mere months away from marrying age. The perspective is third person, limited, told almost entirely from Inès’ view with her perceptions and empathic abilities. This should span several years and she has intense relationships with the main cast. Cover art inside!

FRANCE 1557: Bellarose de la Rouge, has been sent away to her family home, for Queen Catherine's pleasure since the age of 14. She awaits her return to the french court, by order of the french king.
Before she left she was close friends with the prince of France, Francis and his half brother Sebastian known as 'Bash'. Bellarose had a group of friends; Aylee, Greer, Kenna, and Lola.
Now that she has returned, Mary Stuart Queen of Scots, has also returned from a convent. Bellarose's friends are Ladies-in-waiting to Mary. Mary is engaged to Francis who Bellarose is in love with.
How will she get through living in court?
Unsure if the man she loves, loves her?
Can she really trust her friends if they are loyal to Mary?
Is Mary a friend or foe?Bellarose also makes an alliance with one of the most powerful people in France.
