Vesper coughed up a little bit of seawater. She had the worst dream. Her damp clothes clung to her body, and she shivered as a small breeze blew past. Wait a minute. Her eyes flew open in panic. She was surrounded by a group of five people who looked both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. “W-where am I?” she asked.
A raven-haired boy, wearing a red vest and a straw hat, laughed. “Shishishi! You're on my pirate ship! I'm Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!”
Vesper let out a laugh of disbelief. “I must be in a coma. Or I've gone insane. Either way, this can't be real.”
TLDR: A One Piece fan gets thrown into the sea (literally), and quickly comes face to face with a familiar crew. What happens next?

He had such a shit-eating grin on, eyes gleaming as he met Shanks's gaze. "As such, I'll be participating on behalf of the Straw-Hat Pirates, captained by Monkey D. Luffy."
Shanks knew his face was doing something stupid, as all his officers began to snicker, but he couldn't help it.

Before he can get the hat off, Zoro grabs the base of Sanji’s chin, and suddenly Sanji is extremely aware of how big the man’s hands are. His thoughts whirr like a broken motor, loud and insistent but going nowhere fast.
“No,” Zoro says. He re-clasps the leather straps tight to Sanji’s chin. “The ball hat stays on.”

On case there's confusion:
This is more or less the Straw Hats vs a made up crew of pirates, in a Davy Back Fight much different from the ones they played vs Foxxy.This is an arc I wanted to write, based on an idea of an ex marine lieutenant stealing a ship, and developing a crew of mostly orphans and misfits. He has a very large crew, but only six are close to him, the rest just existing.
The Faux Marines are a cross between pirates and bounty hunters, taking liberties in both lifestyles.
Rated M for now, depends on what happens later.
