When Leo breaks the problem down to basic components, it's very simple, really.
Problem: Raph has been brainwashed by the Foot and we can't get him out of it. Solution: Donnie is working to fix it. Problem: Making a cure will take a lot of time. Sub-Problem: The brain worm might kill Raph before he is cured.
Solution: Leo can take Raph's place.
