Rose isn't quite sure who she is. She is sure she used to know but having died and woken up on Arda too many times to count is bad for her memory. Unfortunately these are not the only memories she has lost. She also doesn't remember anything that happened to the body she now has before she possessed it. What she does remember is the Dwarves being rude to her and Bilbo being one of her few friends in a really scary place. Oh and the Valar who want her to help Bilbo destroy the One Ring. They are decidedly not helpful. And she keeps failing at the task. On her latest life she is separated from her traveling companions and ends up in Ered Luin. She has given up on trying to remember her true identity but that might have been a mistake as might be agreeing to be taken to Thorin's Halls.
Fili would like it if his Uncle would just come back already and rule his own damn kingdom. He would also like it if there were a few less people creating problems. It would be manageable but then one of the Mountain's Trading Companies comes back with a seemingly boring and useless Hobbit in tow and suddenly he has even more problems. And Kili refuses to help.
Most of this is rated T but there are some mature themes.

Almost two years after the Battle of the Five Armies, Thorin asks Bilbo to return to the mountain with the excuse of needing a "Hobbit-Dwarf Relations Advisor." What that entails, the king has no clue, but he is willing to make up a fake title and job just to get the chance to make amends with the hobbit and, in time, make his deep affections known. Unbeknownst to Thorin, Bilbo is already madly in love with him. Through a series of ridiculous cultural miscommunications, Bilbo finds himself engaged to the King Under the Mountain, while at the same time, Thorin is heartbroken that the hobbit, his heart's desire, has found love in another.
~ A subverted version of the "Bilbo is married/engaged to Thorin in the ways of dwarves and doesn't know it" trope. Inspired by the omitted information from The Hobbit that reads, "curious habit in [hobbit] weddings. They kept it (always officially and very often actually) a dead secret for years who they were going to marry, even when they knew. The figure scowled. Swiping a hand over his face to remove the worst of the blood, he straightened up.

Summary
He ignores the murmur of Khuzdul that passed between the dwarves as he made his way to the door. His footfalls against the cool floorboards silent as he thought back again on who would be arriving, a smile coming to his lips as he remembered that it would be the princes.
Already beginning to prepare himself for the chaos bound to ensue.
But his mood shifted as his mind flashed with the last moments of said princes, making his expression fall. His hand hovered above the handle of his front door, driving back the darkness that had begun to settle in his chest. He promised himself something, that he wouldn’t let any of the company to die their original deaths.
He would do his best to fulfill that promise, the consequences for the future be damned. And so he composed himself, a polite smile playing at his lips and a greeting on his tongue.
Before he paused, standing frozen in his doorway. Being met with a dwarf he’s never seen before standing inbetween the princes, his muted green eyes meeting his own hazel ones.
