Koh wasn't sure how he was expected to speak when James was so close. The dim light of the living room lamp reflected in his eyes, illuminating them, thousands of tiny stars sparkling in his irises. The beautiful birthmark on the side of his nose was particularly visible when it was mere inches away. And his eyelashes were curved prettily, perfectly accentuating his eyelids, something Koh wouldn't notice when it came to anyone else. But this was James, so of course he focused on every possible detail, no matter how small.
James was waiting. For some kind of reaction, he was sure. But Koh had no clue how to speak at the moment, his breath was rattling uselessly in his lungs because he never imagined he would be put in this situation. Even in his wildest dreams, he never allowed his brain to delude himself into thinking James would want to be with him.

When James came out of the bathroom following his shower, he just paused and stared.
The two loves of his life were curled up around each other, Alex holding Pato like his own personal teddy bear. Both were already asleep, Alex making snuffling noises into Pato's hair on occasion, the cold he had still congesting him pretty bad.
There had been a lot of cuddling happening in their house over the last two weeks. First it had been Pato, who'd come back from overseas with a nasty cold that knocked him down for about a week. And since neither himself or Alex really took a whole lot of precautions, his other partner was the next to get sick.
