Tell me if you've heard this one before: Aithne Moran woke up in her underwear when the Sith started firing on Endar Spire.
In honor of the announcement of the remake, a new take on an old take of a KotOR novelization. My first-ever fanfic, so heavily edited from the version on FF.net that it's basically a different story altogether. Where Revan no longer behaves like the teenager I was when I first wrote this thing, and in fact all the characters behave like adults or aspiring ones, except the actual teenagers, who are still learning. Where every character on Ebon Hawk is given motivation and a story arc, and Dustil Onasi doesn't just get pointed away from the Sith and then abandoned again with all the trauma of his childhood and the Dark teachings he learned from the Sith, but that causes its own problems. Where the True Sith don't exist, because we're going to give Revan and the Jedi who followed Revan to war the dignity of being corrupted by it all on their own, because that's what war does. Knights of the Old Republic, the way I wish I'd written it when I was seventeen and choose to write it now.

This fanfic follows the story of two Jedi, a Soikan named Jax and a Pantoran called Kaida, before and running parallel to the events of the SW: KOTOR game. Throughout their adventures from Younglings to Masters, they develop friendships and relationships, face joy and despair, and their relationship may blossom into something more.
Their story takes them from the Jedi's Enclave on Dantooine to a simple life on the plains of Lothal and an invasion by a Sith Empire; from Knighthood to participants of a civil war between smuggler alliances and pirate gangs on a forested planet, the destruction of The Enclave and the showdown of the Republic against Darth Malak.
Seemingly at every turn is the galaxy-wide corporation, Czerka Corporation, also known as Czerka Arms. Czerka's presence forces the Jedi to go on missions from Lothal and Ryloth to Elsoba (OC) and beyond.

A task to accompany the Jedi Bastila Shan on a special mission from the Jedi Council takes a turn for the worse when the ship carrying them, the Endar Spire, is attacked, and Gwen, along with the decorated Republic pilot Carth Onasi, become stranded on the metropolis planet Taris. With the Sith occupation on the planet preventing any departures, Gwen and Carth must work together to locate Bastila if they are to escape alive and to find a way to stop Darth Malak once and for all.
