Merlin has lived a hundred lives. A healer. A chef. An architect. A man lost in the quiet rhythm of the world.
In the year 2025, he works at a small art museum, curating an exhibit of Arthurian legends. The paintings unsigned, half-forgotten are more than historical curiosities. They are memories. His own. Each brushstroke a thread tied to a man he can’t afford to forget.
But even memory fades. After fifteen centuries of waiting, Merlin’s grasp on the past begins to blur until a stranger walks in. A young man with familiar eyes.
But the question was, was it really Arthur returned ? Or just another echo — a face that haunts every lifetime?

Arthur finds out Merlin has magic. He also finds out how often Merlin risked his life for him and so, he does the only thing he can think of to protect him: banishment.
Hurt and angry, Merlin leaves and swears to not look back.
But, when two years pass and Morgana shows up at Merlin’s door, urging him to fill Gaius’ position as Court Physician, Merlin agrees. He really doesn’t know why, but Arthur is sure Merlin would do just about anything to get on his nerves.
Unprepared for the shock of seeing Merlin back in the castle, Arthur is forced to speed along his plans to lift the ban on magic. But between stubborn councilors, a mysterious plague, a still angry Merlin, and Morgana being Morgana, Arthur is fairly certain he’ll lose his mind before the first year of his reign even ends.

Merlin hopes to convince Arthur that magic is totally good instead of him and Morgana just being an exception. Morgana, meanwhile, hopes to convince him to usurp his father. As allies are gathered and Arthur realizes the injustice in his kingdom, it looks more and more like he will have to act in a drastic way. A way he dreads.
Meanwhile, Arthur and Merlin are growing closer and closer and might just have feelings for each other. Something they probably should be better about realizing, considering the example of Gwen and Morgana right next to them.
In a land of myth and a time of magic, the destiny of a great kingdom now rests on the shoulders of four, their names: Merlin, Arthur, Guinevere, and Morgana

Summary

Summary
It is Yuletide in Camelot. On the eve before Yule, Arthur and Merlin profess their love; but then Arthur finds out about Merlin's magic and years of deception. Arthur is angry until the spirits of Yuletide show him the full truth about Merlin. There is some anger and angst along the way, but an eventual happy ending makes for a satisfying holiday story. This tale is, of course, inspired by Dickens' timeless Christmas story: "A Christmas Carol."

Suddenly the doors opened and a haggard-looking Gaius was dragged in next to Merlin and brought to his knees. He was in front of Merlin, though the warlock could still see his face from where he stood.
Gaius started chanting, his eyes glowing, Merlin felt sharp pain from where Gaius’ fingers met his skin; he cried out.
Uther had to put an arm out to keep Arthur in place as light erupted from where they’d been staring. Eyes were averted as the bright beam engulfed Merlin’s frame. When the light faded, Merlin hit the ground with a thud. -
