"I don't hate you, Lexa," Clarke tells her, her hand sliding around Lexa's waist, her other hand tangling itself in Lexa's hair. Lexa is barely able to keep herself composed. "You're confusing."
"You're confusing," Lexa shoots back. "You're special, Clarke."
"I'm glad you think so," Clarke murmurs, smiling a little. "We used to be more than this," Clarke says, softly. "Back before everything. Do you think we could ever go back to that?" She asks. "Do you think that's possible for us? After everything?"
"I believe that is for you to decide, Clarke," Lexa tells her, just as softly. "I would like it to be, however," Lexa says. "I would like to have you."
Clarke smiles, her hand in Lexa's hair tightening, tilting her head back. She kisses Lexa's throat, drawing a soft noise out of her. "You're going to have to work for it, Commander. I don't forgive so easily."
"I'd do anything," Lexa whispers, her eyes fluttering shut for a second. "I don't want to pretend. I'm not playing games with you, Clarke."
"Good," Clarke whispers. "I'm not, either."

Clarke scrambles to the side, a vase shattering directly next to her. Another shot goes off, and Clarke grabs a chair, throwing it at Titus. She catches a glimpse of Murphy, who is directly charging Titus, and there's another shot fired, though it's muffled by the sound of flesh.
A gasp.
Lexa.
"No!" Clarke screams, her entire world shattering, all within a single second. She watches as Lexa's hand rises to her stomach, watches as her eyes widen. "Oh my god, no, no, no," she whispers, her hands shaking. She presses them against Lexa's hand, against her stomach, black blood pooling out from behind her fingers. "Lexa, no," Clarke feels tears in her eyes, feels her heart pounding in her chest, her head spinning. "No, no, no, please...please..."
There's a gurgling sound, and Clarke looks up, just in time to see Titus fall to the ground. Blood pools out all around him, and Murphy is left standing there, a knife gripped tightly in his hand, his chest heaving.
Titus is dead, and Lexa is going to be, soon.

She pauses momentarily to let it sink in and tilts her head to the side, as if she is in awe of what she is saying. As if the overwhelming thumping in her chest is finally easing as it comes out and is making it that much more real.
“I love you. I love you. I love you, Clarke,” she repeats it like a mantra, emphasizing each word like she’s getting used to saying it again. Like she likes the sound of it coming from her mouth. Like saying it out loud has opened the floodgates of her heart and there’s no way in hell she can stop it now. ]
Clarke and Lexa survived another war between their people. Now that Pike has been subdued, Clarke is back in Polis, and the two leaders finally give in to start their promised 'someday', so hollow when first spoken, now a very real possibility.
