Summary
(Formerly titled "Sea-Salted Secrets")
An idea that formed from the fact that Merlin was lied to about his heritage. (A heritage that I have tweaked for the sake of this story - a self-indulgent merfolk AU)
.... .... .... ....
Suddenly the doors opened and a haggard-looking Gaius was dragged in next to Merlin and brought to his knees. He was in front of Merlin, though the warlock could still see his face from where he stood.
Gaius started chanting, his eyes glowing, Merlin felt sharp pain from where Gaius’ fingers met his skin; he cried out.
Uther had to put an arm out to keep Arthur in place as light erupted from where they’d been staring. Eyes were averted as the bright beam engulfed Merlin’s frame. When the light faded, Merlin hit the ground with a thud. -

Summary
Merlin never wanted to come to Camelot. But with his home reduced to ashes and nowhere else to turn, he has no choice but to seek refuge with his uncle, a court physician under King Uther’s rule. All he wants is a quiet life—one of healing, learning, and keeping his strange gifts hidden.
But the moment he steps within Camelot’s walls, he feels it. A presence watching. A hunger waiting.
Prince Arthur Pendragon is nothing like the noble protector of legends. He is ruthless, possessive, and drawn to Merlin in ways neither of them fully understand. Every time Merlin tries to escape, Arthur is there to catch him—tender, terrifying, and utterly unwilling to let him go.

When Morgana invokes a long forgotten spell, the ancient and powerful Court of Magic is summoned to pass judgment on Uther Pendragon and his bloodline for their crimes against the magical world.
But for the verdict to be carried out, every seat on the Council must be filled, and the chair of the Dragonlords has long stood empty.
Now Merlin faces an impossible choice: side with his people and end Uther’s reign of terror, or save Arthur.

Summary
He wanted to take his hand and lead him through the fields back to Camelot, pull him through markets where sorcerers now plied their trades freely, to show him how Arthur had expressed his love.
He wanted to dig down with his bare hands, dirt caking his hands and under his fingernails, to cradle Merlin’s skull in his hands, to have some part of him back. He would even take the smallest toe bone if it was the only thing left, close his hand around that tiny fragment, just to have something to hold.
-Or, it isn't a battlefield, or a desperate, daring, do-or-die scenario. Merlin's magic is revealed, and Uther kills him for it.

Summary
After foolishly seeking shelter in a magical cave, the original Round Table find themselves under a curse tailored to teach each of them a personal lesson. The question is what Merlin is supposed to learn from being turned into a girl, and whether it might not be more of a blessing than a curse, seeing as Gwaine seems rather taken with her new appearance…

Summary
Gaius ushers them in. “I was just gathering my things to come check in on you. How are you feeling?”
“Uh, headache. Deeply wrong.” And then Merlin adds offhandedly, “Oh, and like I’ve switched bodies with the Crown Prince of Camelot.”
Or: Merlin and Arthur accidentally swap bodies. This would be a great opportunity for Merlin to relish in making Arthur muck out the stables, if the prat hadn't also gotten Merlin's magic in the exchange.

Summary
Arthur Pendragon and Merlin were literally from two different worlds. One is a prince from a great kingdom and the other a common farm boy from the next kingdom over. These two should have never met.
But that was before they realized their parents were once friends and arranged the two of them to marry when they reached adulthood. That was before Uther turned on magic and Hunith went on the run with her infant son.
Now, twenty years have passed and the Prince, Arthur Pendragon is far out of his depth. After four months of marriage and learning what he has about Merlin, he knows that things need to change, but doesn’t know what can be done.
And with every attempt at trying going wrong, with mysterious boys showing up wanting to be a knight, strange physician’s trying to coerce his consort away, even stranger ladies who’ve seen to weaken Arthur’s brain, and the arrival of an odd Druid boy they need to risk it all just to get to safety…will Arthur ever get things to go right?

Summary
Going out on Midsummer had been a very bad idea, Adrien was able to admit that much. He couldn’t regret running into a girl named Marinette though, who had helped him through the time where Faerie tried to call him with sweet songs.
He really wanted to get to know her better, but there was a slight problem: he was a Cat Sidhe and if she found out about it, she might as well be proclaimed dead on the spot. But the loneliness he had seen in her eyes had been too familiar for him to just leave her alone. Keeping her ignorant of the presence of the fair folk, while he himself was one of them, proved to be a lot harder than he had expected it to be though.Series

Summary
For a split second that lasts eons, Arthur exists in that horribly weightless space before gravity conquers, and then he's falling. Distantly, he hears Merlin cry out his name in panic, and then he’s bracing himself for impact.
An impact that never comes.
Silently hoping, begging, for anything but what he knows he’s about to see, Arthur turns his head to look.
And sees Merlin, hand outstretched, and eyes ablaze with gold.
***
Faced with the revelation of Merlin's secret and a sudden internal war between duty and sentiment, Arthur must make a decision that will affect both of their fates. And when Merlin is gravely injured, the time to make that decision rapidly dwindles. Arthur must quickly choose what matters most: the demands of the law, or those of his heart.

Summary
Merlin is the worst manservant Arthur has ever had. He’s always late, constantly forgets his breakfast, and can’t clean a room to save his life.
He’s the bravest person Arthur has ever known.
When Merlin saves his life—again—and Uther forbids Arthur from returning the favour, everything Arthur has been taught starts to feel wrong. Cruel, even.
One day, he wants to be a better king. A fairer one. To do that, he’ll have to start questioning his father’s beliefs—about loyalty, about magic, and about what (and who) truly matters.
If that means keeping a closer eye on Merlin without being noticed, so be it.
My personal version of the story in which Arthur knows something doesn’t add up and begins to piece it all together when he hears Merlin cast a spell and kill the griffin. Arthur's not stupid, no one will convince me otherwise
