This in-depth exploration of Jay Gatsby's past comes from years of OBSESSIVE research and work, all with my usual desire to completely recontextualize and destroy your understanding of this stupid book. Nick had his say, but there's a lot he doesn't know about Jay. A lot he might have been told but isn't willing to put on paper—or worse, things Jay couldn't bear to tell Nick.
This story will go a chapter per year, covering his time with Dan, his time between Dan and the war, his time with Daisy—and just why she's so impossibly important to him—his years rising up with Wolfshiem, and that one final year before he dies. We'll get to the very heart of the manipulation and desperation that pushed his man until his untimely end.
