To Gaster's surprise, the experimental skeleton that he created deep within his Lab was not the only one of his kind. In fact, he was one of very, very, very, very many, spread across a staggering amount of different realities. Identifying other universes was one thing, but interacting with them..? That was the trouble.
In comes Gaster's latest experiment- using a high tech machine and careful monitoring, he sends S01's Soul out into the multiverse to take over the body of one of these random, identical versions to gather data on these foreign realms. As they borrow S01's body in return, Gaster gets the opportunity to... chat. There's so much to learn.

Summary
Monsters have been freed from the Underground and are now living on the Surface, thanks to the brilliant work of Dr. Alphys. Sans feels hopeful for the first time in his life; his friends are happy, and he's been making progress coping with his past, too. With things looking up, Sans thought he may finally be able to put his darkest days behind him.
He should have known better.
When Alphys asks Sans for some help gathering some old research papers from the old Underground lab, Sans finds out the hard way that Alphys isn't the only Royal Scientist to thank for Monsterkind reaching the Surface.

After the events over the months, Sans had finally called out to Slenderman and was taken to the mansion, where he would finally find peace with who he was. Surrounded by friends, he was going to be happy finally.
Running from the law now, and taking care of serial killers, it was an odd joy for him. But he was still happy, and that's all that matters.
However, others from his past lurk beneath their shadows of remorse, and Sans has to deal with more troubles.
